Board Meeting Minutes
President Chris Duva called the October
17, 2007 Board meeting to order at 7:02
pm, following a delicious potluck dinner.
Board members in attendance were
President Duva, Vice President Jerry
Ainsworth, Treasurer Margaret Knight,
Advertising Coordinators Ken and Grace
Fredrickson, Membership Chairman
Pete Lech, Concours Chairwoman
Phyllis Meng, Autocross Chairman Steve
Eguina, Tours Chairman Armand Gastelo,
Tech Activities Chairman David Vadman,
Member-at-Large David Guardia, Web
Site Coordinator Gloria Moore, Charity
Coordinator Jerry Muno, Historian Judy
Lech and Goodie Store Manager David
Miranda. Also attending were OCR
members Cooper Boggs, Nicole Forrest
Boggs, Melody Muno, Cynthia Guardia,
Sheila Ainsworth, Maureen Vadman,
Buzzy Klevens and Gordon Williams.
Secretary: Larry Moore was absent. The
minutes from the September meeting
were approved.
Treasurer: Margaret gave the
Treasurer’s report for the month of
September. While the club had a negative
income in the month of September,
the overall balance sheet is positive.
Margaret then requested income and
expense reinbursement items. A motion
to pay the expense reinbursements was
made by Pete Lech and seconded by
Ken Fredrickson.
New Business
2008 Calendar Planning: Chris Duva
led the discussion and placed club
activities on the 2008 calendar by month.
The proposed 2008 calendar will be
sent to all board members. All dates are
subject to change with advance notice.
Honoring Terry Wells and Bev Frohm:
Terry Wells will be retiring from PCNA in
December.
It was agreed that he and his wife will
be invited to the Christmas Party and
be recognized at the event. Bev Frohm
will step down from many years as
Zone 8 Representative and will also be
invited and recognized at the Christmas
Party. The form of the recognitions will
be determined at the November Board
meeting.
Enthusiast of the Year: President
Duva suggested that each board
member recommend an OCR member
for the Enthusiast of the Year awards:
one male and one female member
may be recognized. Board members
should send their suggestions by email
to Chris by November 1, along with a
simple description of why the person is
recommended.
Vice President: Jerry Ainsworth reported
no changes to the 2007 calendar and
that the Christmas party planning was on
track. Nicole asked if the venue for the
2008 party could be changed. She was
told that it certainly could.
Nominating: No report, however with
Michael Dennis stepping down from the
board, the president
will appoint a replacement after the
ballots have been received.
Pandemonium Editor: Michelle Conard
was absent. Nicole reported that there
was some interest in the Pando Editor
position at the Ladies Potluck event.
Michelle has stated her intention to
resign
the editorship at the end of 2007. Gloria
Moore has contacted a few graphic
designers to do the production part of the
magazine, so the club editor would only
have to gather and edit stories, photos
and captions.
Magazine Distribution: Norm Hollinger
was absent. A check was cut for the next
Pando delivery.
Goodie Store: David Miranda presented
a check for the items sold at the October
Breakfast. He expects to have license
plate frames and dressy windbreaker-like
jackets available prior to the holidays.
Charity: Jerry Muno reported that $1,382
was raised at the Hearts & Garages Tour
for CHOC.
Advertising: Grace Fredrickson
reported that we currently have 35
advertisers, with only one with an
outstanding balance.
Membership: Pete Lech had no report.
Tours: Armand Gastelo reported that
Michael Dennis will step down for 2008
and that Gordon Williams will assist him
with tours. Gordon will lead the Julian
Tour on November 17. Armand said he
already as 22 replies for cars for the
Laguna Niguel Christmas Parade. Buzzy
Klevens reported that the Octoberfest
tour went well, but had a few gliches.
Autocross: Steve Eguina reported on
trophies being supplied by Stuttgart. He
also reported that there are 85 people
predicted for the Drivers’ Clinic on
Saturday and many of them are new to
the driving venues. He has 100 people
for the Autocross on Sunday. He asked
that the December 9 Autocross be added
to the web site.
Technical Activities: David Vadman
had no new sessions to report.
Web Site Coordination: Gloria reported
that Frank Goodyear will take over the
web site as of 2008 and he will try to
make it more user-friendly and have more
information available to members. He
would like to re-design the site to make it
easier to use and fi nd information, easier
to maintain and improve the appearance.
The board gave voice approval.
Historian: Judy Lech reported that
there is an historical story in the latest
Pando. Members thanked her and said
they liked it and would like more.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was
made by Jerry Muno and seconded
by Ken Fredrickson. The meeting was
adjourned at 9:26 pm. Respectively
