in custody at Shastri Nagar PS in Chennai.<br />

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) demanded a probe into the custodial death of V.<br />

Senthil Kumar, a Kacharayanpatti.<br />

According to V. Sundaram, the district secretary of the party (rural), the police took 30 yearold<br />

V. Senthil Kumar to the Kottampatti PS on Sunday afternoon for an enquiry. V. Senthil<br />

Kumar was found dead in an isolated place at Kadampatti.<br />

The death provoked villagers of Kacharayanpatti and the surrounding areas to stage a road<br />

roko protesting the “custodial death” of Senthil Kumar.<br />

Relatives of N. Annadurai, aged 46 from Komangalam, kicked up a controversy when they<br />

claimed that N. Annadurai died in custody as a result of police misconduct.<br />

N. Annadurai was taken to the Vriddhachalam PS for an enquiry in connection with a case<br />

of the theft of an electric motor.<br />

According to the police, N. Annadurai developed fits at about 9.00am, and was taken to<br />

hospital at 10.30am. At 11.30am, he was declared dead.<br />
