each year during the holidays, elmhurst resident art biddle mails a card to
his surgeon, dr. gabriel ubatuba, which simply says, “i’m still alive.” he often
sees his primary care physician, dr. phillip cozzi, “so he knows,” says biddle.
When three generations rely on the same hospital for three
decades, they get to know the place. And when one man credits
his physicians for saving his life, it really gets personal. So in
gratitude, Art Biddle and his wife made a donation and became
part of the transformation. He did it to show his appreciation and
his respect; he did it for the next generation. Now he brings his
grandson, Liam, to watch the new building go up. Someday,
Liam may be a grandfather, too, with his own stories to tell.
