Spikelet. The spikelet is the primary inflorescence in grasses.<br />

Floret. A floret is an individual grass flower.<br />

Glume. The glumes are the bracts at the very base <strong>of</strong> a grass spikelet. There are usually two - a<br />

lower <strong>and</strong> an upper glume, but in some grasses there is only one <strong>and</strong> in other grasses there are<br />

none.<br />
