Platinum Airways A320 by Project Airbus with default panel
Panel
Gauges: The IAS and ALT gauges in the centre of the panel not functioning. Fix Available in Forums
Working GPS and radio
Checklists and reference table: Not available. Pilots can use the Checklist for the default A321.
Visibility over the panel: is good but need seat adjustment in approach. (Ctrl+Q)
Ease of use: Good
Virtual Cockpit: Yes with detailed cabin in 2D view
Exterior
Doors, gear, lights and control surfaces all normal.
Taxi
Speed control is easy and turning poses no problems if speed below 20 kts.
Takeoff
Flap display on panel incorrect.
Acceleration fair: 43 second to 140 kts(rotation) with distance just under 5000 ft.
Climb performance
V/S is defaulted at 1600 ft/min. The A/T is slow to increase speed to Bug setting. Seem to be the same on all
Project Airbus craft. Pilots are advised to use manual throttle control in climb and descent.
Alternative is to allow for lag by setting the Spd bug 10 kts higher.
Fuel burn: 1200 Lbs/h.
Cruise Performance
Speed: 280 Kts, Mach 0.80 at FL340 with 81% N1
Fuel burn: ±750 pph. It should be closer to 6000 lbs/h. The Navlog (Shft+F10) is showing excessive fuel
usage.
Descent
Because the A/P reacts too slowly manual speed control is necessary. Pilots are advised to follow the A321
Checklist and allow for extra time to set the aircraft up. Alternatively one can set the speed bug 10 kts lower
than desired speed and use spoiler setting 75%
Approach
Intercepting the glide slope requires absolute level flight at point of intercept.
The repeated “don’t sink” callouts by FSX on finals in perfect glide slope is not normal and downright
irritating. Because I suspected a possible FSX problem, I flew the same approach with the default A321 and
did not get the same callouts.
Speed control requires a lot of work.
Landing
Auto landing is possible. Manual landing is normal.

Auto Spoilers/Airbrakes
Braking
No auto braking available on the panel only anti skid. Manual braking is good but the reversers do not seem
to do much at all.
Frame rate: Good
