The module aims at:<br />

Module objectives:<br />

• Introducing the international environmental negotiations and processes related to<br />

management of chemicals;<br />

• Raising awareness on the importance of stakeholders involvement in the<br />

negotiation process, particularly workers and trade unions;<br />

• Highlighting concrete success stories of negotiation agreements, social alliances,<br />

etc;<br />

• Identifying steps to ensure workers’ and stakeholders’ participation in negotiations<br />

and local/workplace initiatives.<br />

Learning outcomes:<br />

At the end of the session, the trainee will be familiar with:<br />

• the Strategic Approach to International Chemical Management;<br />

• the objective and scope of action of the following Conventions: Stockholm,<br />

Rotterdam and Basel;<br />

• the Pollutant release and transfer registers and regional processes as REACH;<br />

• The potential for stakeholders alliances on this topic through concrete examples;<br />

• Existing initiatives in the workplace.<br />
