[The material in this section is our second offering from one of the most extensive postcard collections we have seen. It was assembled<br />

by a collector with a voracious appetite and deep pockets. However, it must be noted that quality wasn't his primary consideration and,<br />

unless noted otherwise, mixed condition - but generally from good to fine - should be expected. Postal history subjects feature,<br />

including postmarks & origins/destinations. The collector died many years ago so most of this material has been off the market for a<br />

very long time]<br />

1910 Bowen Printing Co (USA?) "Globe Trotter" PPC being a printed "chain letter" originating in<br />

Victoria then to Canada, Holland & France finally being returned to the original sender, with all relevant<br />

stamps and postmarks, minor blemishes.<br />

Large bundle of mostly PPCs with an array of 'PAQUEBOT' handstamps & cancellations from many<br />

countries but mostly between Australia & Europe, the majority with Australian or Australian States<br />

stamps, noted four covers from New Caledonia, also some modern philatelic types, condition very<br />

mixed. (120+)<br />

ESPERANTO: International Congress cards comprising 1905 Boulogne (2, unused), 1907 Cambridge,<br />

1912 Melbourne (marvellous real photo type used by a South Australian delegate), 1924 Vienna (2,<br />

used under cover), 1924 Helsinki (used Estonia to Melbourne) & 1935 Rome unrelated PPC but with<br />

the Congress cds. (8)<br />

60 C A+/B - Esperanto promotional PPCs including two magnificent unused Tuck's "Bondezirojn" types, German<br />

with "Zeppelin Zamenhof" to Australia, Dutch stampless 'Helplingvo Internacia' to Australia with<br />

'Passed' & 'PASSED' h/s, American Statue of Liberty to New Zealand, German 'Esperanto und Radio'<br />

stampless to Victoria, & two others (one of which is defective). (8)<br />

addressed to Eldorado; also WWII Identity Card with 'NORTHCOTE/6AP42/VIC' d/s, condition variable<br />

Bundle of inwards PPCs (mostly) & a few covers all with various English Mail TPO transit backstamps,<br />

mostly machine cancels many of which are typically indistinct against the views but including a cover<br />

with fine strike of the scarce 'ENGLISH MAIL NSW' machine, from many countries including Paraguay,<br />

Turkey & Belgian Congo (2). (37)<br />

Array of PPCs from Australia & elsewhere all with Ship Mail Room datestamps or 'PAQUEBOT'<br />

cancels of various Australian ports with a few scarce types among them, some shipping line cards<br />

noted; also some similarly cancelled later-period covers. Interesting lot.{Page 15.2} (53 items)<br />

1914 Real photo types "Palm Island Settlement" (two sailors in the distance) taken when the AN&MEF<br />

stopped-over en route to Rabaul; "Entente Cordiale Suva" (members of the Australian, British, New<br />

Zealand & French navies) captioned in the same hand, taken when en route to Samoa; and<br />

uncaptioned view dated on reverse "Dec 14 14" & endorsed "...prisoners of war on their way to camp";<br />

the first two with pencilled notes on the reverse, minor blemishes.{Page 14.3} (3)<br />

NEW SOUTH WALES: 1907 unstamped card endorsed "2 to pay" in blue & with the finest strike we<br />

have seen of 'WERRIS CK TO SYDNEY/TPO/NSW' cds, Postage Due 1d x2 with scribble-cancel.<br />
