1931 apparently commercial cover to England per KLM to Batavia with special flight cachet in violet,
with KGV 4d olive + Roos 9d pair & 5/- tied by Caboolture (Qld) cds, endorsed "Not over 1oz" & "6/10"
which is the rate paid, flap missing & minor blemishes. [The AAMC states the rate to GB was 3/6d per
½oz but Breckon - "Philately from Australia" (Sep 2007) states it was 3/4d. We suggest both are
correct: it was 3/6d for the first ½oz, & 3/4d for each subsequent ½oz]{Page 39.1}
1934-35 commercial registered covers with provisional registration labels in red from Queensland POs
Apple Tree Creek, Dalysford (cancelled at Bundaberg) & Guluguba, and in blue from Jimboomba,
Southport & Ulorongary (cancelled at Brisbane), also very late usage of 'REGISTERED/MA MA
CREEK' h/s used in lieu of label, minor faults. Very scarce group. (7)
1935 STC Radio cover to London with 2d Jubilee + KGV 1/4d (Cat $250 on cover) tied by Brisbane
Australian Censor h/s & tape, Nierinck Cat SFr250 (1995); also 1939 part-cover from England per
"Koranga" with boxed 'DAMAGED BY WATER/THROUGH ACCIDENT/TO FLYING BOAT' h/s,
unpriced by Nierinck.{Page 39.2} (2)
228 C A - "Clipper" cover to Illinois with 3d AIF (apparently affixed for surface mail) & Kangaroo 2/- pair (paying
Censor tapes, ironed-out vertical fold. There's a story here. [Presumably sent surface mail from
