When the Miele company was first started
back in 1899, the founders, believing that
success was only achie vable in the long
term by being totally convinced of the
quality of one’s product, elected to
produce machines that were both durable
and long lasting.
Their motto “Immer besser”, which
translates as “Forever better”, represents
this philosophy. It remains our company
motto to this day and permeates through
every aspect of our business, from the
drawing board down to the very last nut
and bolt in a machine. And it is thanks to
this philosophy that the Miele brand is
now identified with unsurpassed product
quality, world wide.
Founded by Carl Miele and Reinhard
Zinkann in 1899 with only 11 employees,
Miele quickly gained recognition as a
manufacturer of premium appliances.
To help meet demand there are
subsidiaries in more than 39 countries
making Miele the largest privately held
appliance manufacturer in the world.
As our policy is one of continuous
improvement, new features, accessories
and colours may be introduced to models
during the lifetime of this brochure. Your
Miele Agent will be pleased to advise on
any later developments.
Miele came to South Africa in 1982. Since
then the company has grown rapidly,
moving to its current prestigious location in
Bryanston, Johannesburg in March 2004.
Our Cape Town showroom opened at the
end of September 2005. The Brooklyn
Pretoria showroom opened in August 2008
and Umhlanga showroom opened in
October 2009.
Our showroom trading hours are from
Mondays to Fridays from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm
and on Saturdays from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.
On public holidays and Sundays we are
closed.
If possible, please arrange an appointment
for quality customer care in advance.

100 Years of washing
Looking at laundry through fresh eyes
In 2001, the Miele washing machine
celebrat ed its 100th anniversary. Back in
1901, Miele built their first wooden-tub
washer and, in doing so, took a decisive
step in the history of domestic appliances.
A century ago, washing laundry was hard
graft and toil.
Miele’s first washing machines greatly
reduced the elbow grease and time needed
to wash laundry and ever since then, Miele
have led the way in laundry technology. We
were the first to launch a washing machine
with electronic controls, the first to invent
updateable machines to which new programmes
can be added and the first to
include a Handwash programme for woollens
and silks on every machine in the range. Our
latest washing machines and tumble dryers
feature unique automatic programmes as
well as a number of special programmes for
particular fabrics in cluding denim, outerwear
and shirts.

Sound levels
Some of the quietest and fastest washing machines in the world
Mieles washing machines offer
different levels of sound
insulation depending on the
spin speed of the machine.
Machines with a lower spin do not need as
much insulation as top of the range
washing machines which are equipped
with a special sound insulation package.
The sound insulation is categorised on a
scale of 1–5, with 1 for machines with
lower spin speeds which need less
insulation, and 5 for machines with high
spin speeds which need more insulation.
Frequency controlled motors in most of our
ma chines reduce motor nois es greatly. In
our top of the range models a brushless
motor does its job with hardly any noise at
all. In fact, we don’t believe there is any
other washing machine which spins faster
and quieter.
With a spin speed of up to 1600 rpm, some
Miele models have already set new records.
The spin cycle commences with a gentle
run-up and is followed by a sophisticated
electronic imbalance control, which
measures if the load has really been evenly
distributed. If this is not the case, your
Miele machine will interrupt the spin cycle,
redistribute the load, and then resume the
spin cycle. The machine will not violently
vibrate and move across your kitchen
floor!
As can be expected with washing machines
of this calibre, the maximum spin speed is
adjustable and each individual wash
programme is limited to an appropriate
maximum speed. Your benefit of this safety
feature is that it is virtually impossible to
damage your delicate garments with an
excessively high spin speed.

The value of a laundry care appliance
cannot be judged by the price alone. The
real value only becomes apparent during
the continuous use of the machine, when it
not only saves water and electricity but
also valuable time and effort and even your
clothes. The true value is embedded in
years of trouble-free and reliable service.
At Miele – true to our company slogan –
we are driven to deliver real value. 24/7,
365 days a year our products are subjected
to excruciating longevity tests where they
have to meet our quality benchmark of
performing 5,000 programmes. This
equates to a product life of 20 years under
average household use and is considerably
longer than that tested by consumer
associations world wide and three times
longer than for most car motors.

During the longevity testing, which on the
washing machines is 10,000 hours and
7,500 hours on the tumble dryers, some
parts are subjected to the follow ing tests:
• Door lock and hinges have to withstand
60,000 openings and closings on the
washing machines. On average, we
assume that our customer would open
and close the door 12 times from the
time the first item is loaded until the end
of a wash programme
• Even after 600 hours of continuous
spinning – that is 25 days on end – our
washing machines are expected to
function properly
• In addition, the drain pump is tested
at both cold and 95° hot water for
1,000 hours
• The drive mechanism on our tumble
dryers is tested for the whole 7,500 hours
with 6 kg in the drum which is more than
the rated load
• The condensate pump has to withstand
10,000 hours continuous operation
These are just a few examples of Miele’s
extreme longevity testing. Parts that do not
meet this standard will not be used in a
Miele. These quality requirements are
unique, we are confident that no oth er
washing machine manufacturer tests to
this level or extent.

Porcelain enamel
Miele is the last of the laundry appliance
manufacturers that enamels the front panels
of their washing machines and tumble
dryers. Your benefit: The scratch proof,
porcelain – like material is resistant to
mechanical impact which protects the
underlying metal from rust ing. In addition,
it is acid and suds proof and won’t yellow
over time so that your Miele looks as new
after many years of use.
100% testing
While many manufacturers rely on statistical
methods to ascertain the quality of their
products and only test parts of their
production run, each and every Miele
washing machine is connected to water
and electricity supplies and undergoes a
complete function test to ascertain that it
will live up to your expectations. In addition,
random machines are selected to carry out
the same longevity testing as described
before – just to make sure that no slackness
has crept in.
Own customer service
For complete peace of mind, at Miele you
can rely on a team of company train ed
service technicians. In the Metropolitan areas
of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and
Durban you will find, Miele Service
Technicians, while in the other areas we
use Miele Service Agents. Through close
connections with the factory, Miele Service
Techni cians and Agents are always
up-to-date with the latest technology.
Spare parts service
As part of a comprehensive and out standing
customer service, we hold the most
important spare parts for up to 15 years
after they have run out of production.
With this you are not forced to buy a whole
new machine should a single part submit to
wear and tear.

Reducing packaging
When it comes to the packaging, our
motto is ‘as much as necessary, but as
little as possible’. Naturally we make it as
environment friendly as we can, and all our
packaging is recyclable.
Recycling appliances
Thanks to their high metal content, Miele’s
large appliances are the most recyclable
in the world. All plastic components are
marked so that they can be manually
sorted by their different materials for
recycling at the end of a machine’s life.
Space-frame construction
To ensure your appliance is repaired
quickly and accurately, the front, sides
and lid can be removed allowing for easy
access and perfect visibility.
Updating old appliances
A PC update facility on all our washing
machines and dryers means that programme
data can be upgraded at a future date should
the need arise. This way you will be able to
benefit from these new additions without
having to purchase a completely new
machine.

Saving energy
Miele washing machines give
excellent results and are
extremely economical. The
consumption levels of Miele
machines have been evaluated according
to strict EU regulations, so it is easy to see
how they compare with other machines.
All Miele washing machines have achiev ed:
A+ for electricity consumption and A for
wash performance.
The top of the range machines with
1600 rpm spin speeds have also achieved
an:
A for spin efficiency
At this high spin speed, the residual
mois ture level is only 43%–44% after
spinning, making subsequent tumble
drying very economical.
A new A+ energy rating has been introduced
for ultra efficient appliances.
The energy consumption levels of all the
new washing machines have been reduced
from 0.95 kWh to 0.85 kWh, therefore
achieving an A+ energy rating.
All Miele tumble dryers have achieved:
B for energy consumption.
Saving your money
All Miele washing machines are de signed
to be connected to a cold water supply
only, which further helps to keep electricity
consumption to a minimum. The machine
heats only as much water as it needs so no
heat is wasted in the pipes between the
hot water tank and the machine, as can
happen with traditional hot and cold fill
machines. On average, the washing machine
heats 3 litres of water for every 1 kg of
wash ing, so it only heats 18 litres per wash.
Compare that with the cost of heating the
whole of your hot water tank!
Connecting to cold water also gives you
the best system for stain removal, so you
can be assured of excellent results.
Water consumption
Miele washing machines are designed to
wash a full load of washing and use 47 litres
of water during each programme for perfect
wash results.
With the W 2859 i WPM & W 1614 models,
this water level consumption has been
reduced to only 42 litres making these
appliances much more environmentally
friendly.
Saving your clothes
Because Miele machines care for your
clothes more than other machines, they
actually prolong the life of your garments.
Miele machines are tested thousands of
times before they are deemed fit for sale.
The inside drum is actually tested with a
silk stocking to identify any blemishes,
which may snag your clothes. The result:
your designer clothes keep their looks for
longer!

the honeycomb drum creates a thin film of

The tiny, smooth-edged perforations in

In addition to the traditional programmes for Cottons and Minimum iron garments, Miele laundry machines also feature a wide range of
intelligent programmes which are specifically designed to suit the fabric being washed and dried. By using textile specific programme
names, optimum washing and drying results are a foregone conclusion.
Special programmes for both washing machines and tumble dryers:

For mixed loads of Cottons and Minimum

Guarantees to minimise creasing and gives

5 Easy loading and unloading
The ergonomic loading angle is a special
feature which enables the machine to be
loaded and unloaded with ease, offering an
extra wide porthole. This creates a loading
funnel that allows both arms to be used to

Plastic door catches and hinges can often
give way under daily wear and tear and
constant slamming. Miele’s doors are
designed and tested to be opened 60,000
times. The average machine is tested for

protects the fabric of your laundry and

Electronic controls
All Miele washing machines have fully
electronic controls. These have no moving
parts, which means much less wear and
tear to the machine and a very wide choice
of “intelligent” programmes.
Easy programme selection
With a single dial control, touch buttons or
state of the art Navitronic controls, Miele
machines are extremely easy to use. Every
programme has a choice of appropriate
tempera tures, so there is no danger of
making a mistake.
Water Plus system
With the Water Plus button you can raise
the water level in the machine and/or add
an extra rinse cycle. This is invaluable if
you live in an area with soft water, want to
use phosphate free detergent or if a member
of your family has sensitive skin.This
function is programme dependent.
For a quiet wash
With different levels of sound
insulation depending on spin
speeds, Miele washing
machines are extremely quiet in operation
– both during the wash and the spin cycle,
even when spinning at high speeds.
Spin speeds of up to 1600 rpm
Depending on the model, Miele washing
machines offer a choice of spin speeds of
up to 1600 rpm. A gradual run up to spin
and an imbalance check ensure that your
laundry is handled as gently as possible.
There is also a top limit to the spin speed
for various programmes to prevent fabrics
from being spun at an inappropriate speed.
Anti crease action
At the end of the wash programme the
drum continues to turn intermittently for
half an hour to prevent the washing from
settling into creases and folds. The drum
can be accessed at any time during this
period.
Automatic foam sensing
Should overfoaming occur in the drum,
the motor automatically reduces the drum
rhythm, enabling the foam to subside.
Once this has happened, the original drum
rhythm is restored and an extra rinse cycle
is brought into the programme. This means
that good wash results are always achieved.
Hydromatic system
All Miele washing machines work on the
Hydromatic system where specially
de signed drum ribs with fins scoop up the
water and carry it to the top of the drum,
before releasing it onto the laundry from
above, ensuring efficient soak ing. This
means that you use very little water – only
42 litres on the top of the range models
and the W 1614 Young Style.
Ball valve
A self-activating ball valve saves on detergent.
During the wash cycle the float ing ball
presses itself tightly against the outlet of the
suds container to prevent the detergent
from escaping into the sump. The detergent
remains in the suds container, so you use
less and the environment has to cope with
less pollution.

Short wash
Every programme has a built in guaranteed
wash time for the main wash. If however,
the items you are washing are not heavily
soiled and don’t need quite so long, the
short wash button can be used to reduce
the length of the main wash and shorten
the programme.
Soak
The soak programme can be used for
pre-treating stained cottons, minimum iron
garments and delicates. The laundry is
steeped in water and detergent at a low
temperature combined with a little agitation.
It precedes the main wash and is an
effective alternative to pre-wash.
The waterproof system
The top of the range models are
enhanc ed by the Waterproof
anti-leak system. A double safety
valve attached to the stopcock will
automatically switch off the water supply
and close the washing machine down
within seconds of a water leak occuring. It
only takes 1 litre of water to activate the
system.
The water control system
The Water Control System
incorporates a float switch to
detect leaks, and a time
controlled safety check which automatically
closes off the water inlet and drains water
out of the machine if it does not fill within a
specific time-frame.
Child resistant controls
All Miele washing machines have a child
resistant control panel. Once the programme
has been running for six minutes, any
alterations to the selected setting are
ignored, so little fingers can not upset your
wash. Models with electronic system locking
will also lock the door and machine when
not in use.
Drain filter
The drain filter is an excellent example of
Miele’s user friendly design. It is positioned
so that a bowl will fit underneath, so there
will be no puddles on the floor.
Sequence
A sequence indicator will appear in the
display that will inform you which stage
your wash programme has reached.
AutoClean detergent
dispenser
This feature ensures a clean
detergent drawer after use, a
high pressure spray inside the drawer
compartment washes away any excess
residue, and naturally this feature does not
increase water consumption.

Condenser dryers
Condenser dryers are for those situations
where it is impractical to duct the machine
to the outside. Warm air simply condenses,
and the water is collected in a drawer at
the front of the machine. If you prefer not
to have to empty the container these
machines have a pump-away facility so
you can drain the condensate out through
a waste pipe.
2 Condenser dryers
The large capacity condensed water
container* can hold more water than ever
before so that it doesn’t have to be
emptied as often. A practical labryrinth
spout makes it easy to carry and empty the
container without spillage.

Patented integrated condensed water

The flexible drain hose, conveniently
located at the back of the machine, can be
set up to drain the condensed water
directly away, avoiding the need to empty
the condensed water container ever again.
It is easy to convert the machine back to
using the container whenever you wish.
Condensate leakage: lowest on the
market
Due to the way they are built, no condenser
dryer can be 100% water-tight. This doesn’t
usually present a problem; how ever, if a
dryer isn’t sufficiently sealed, it can have
unfortunate consequences. Thanks to the
optimum design of the seals, condensate
leaks on Miele dryers are less than on any
other brand, a fact which is constantly

Electronic controls
Miele tumble dryers have electronic controls
which monitor the residual moisture level
of the laundry to achieve precise drying
results.
Sensitive Drying System
The tumble dryers also offer the
benefits of Fuzzy Logic,
allowing them to think for
themselves. The water your clothes are
washed in can vary in composition. The
Sensitive Drying system can take the
variations in conductivity into account and
adjust the drying times accordingly. You will
always achieve excellent, con sistent results.
Buzzer
A buzzer is fitted to all models of dryers
and sounds when the drum turns during
the intermittent anti-crease action period.
On certain models the pitch can be altered.
PC Update
Like the washing machines, most tumble
dryers have the PC Update facility to
allow new programmes to be added to
the machine at a later date.
Countdown display
Several models have a time left indicator to
let you know how much longer your drying
programme is likely to last. This is particularly
useful when using the Sensitive Drying
programmes, which do not have a set length.
Programme sequence indicator
The programme sequence indicator will
keep you informed of the progress of your
programme. This is a great help if you wish
to remove an item while it is still damp
enough to iron and leave the rest to dry
completely.
Programme delay
Some models can be programmed up
to 24 hours in advance, so you can plan
your time and have more flexibility. On top
of the range models you only need to set
the time you want the programme to finish.
Child resistant controls
Most of our tumble dryers have a child
resistant control panel. Once the programme
has been running for three minutes, any
alteration to the selected setting is ignored,
so little fing ers cannot upset your programme.
Clean out airways check light
This light indicates that the filter or
condenser unit is blocked and should be
cleared.

Low temperature
Lower temperatures are available on the
cottons and minimum iron programmes
and are ideal for delicate fabrics such as
acrylics.
Anti-crease action
At the end of the drying programme, the
drum continues to turn intermittently for up
to an hour to prevent the washing from
settling into creases and folds.
Express programme
Miele tumble dryers save time with the
special moisture controlled “Express“
programme, leaving you with time for other
more enjoyable tasks. This programme is
suitable for cottons, has a specially
adapted drum rhythm and operates at
maximum heat continuously to dry laundry
in the quickest time possible.
Woollens Handcare
This programme is designed to fluff up the
fibres and is the ideal complement to the
Handwash Woollens programme on the
washing machines. It is not a drying
programme.
Smoothing
This is an eight-minute programme for
smoothing out fabrics of all types that are
a little crumpled. It will not replace ironing
but will help the process, and is ideal for
those garments which are not safe to fully
dry in a tumble dryer, and tend to be very
creased when they come out of the washing
machine.
Gentle Smoothing
The “Gentle smoothing”
programme is designed to take
advantage of the honeycomb
drum and a special drum rhythm and so
reduce ironing time by up to 30%. It takes
the creases out of damp laundry before it
is line dried. For laundry that is already dry
it smooths out any creasing in a 20 minute
stream of warm air.
Gentle smoothing is moisture controlled
and suitable for all textiles that can be
safely dried in a tumble dryer
Interior light
The drum has an interior light on all
models so you won’t overlook anything.
This is activated via the on/off button.
Stacking option*
If it’s space you want to utilise more
efficiently, Miele dryers will stack on top
of our washing machines. That means
you can install a washer and dryer almost
anywhere. If side by side is a better
arrangement, you can install them under
worktops.

slanted control panel in line with the front
of the machine for a classically elegant and
timeless look. Their flexibility allows them
to be installed almost anywhere.
Models offering the time left display will let
you manage your time to perfection and
the delay start function on others allows
you to delay the start time by up to
24 hours so you can process your laundry
at a time to suit yourself.

The Miele range offers a choice of models
with a rotary programme selector dial or
soft touch controls with a basic time left
display on entry line models. Mid-range
models offer an LCD Plus display. The
Navitronic controls round off the top of the
range with a multi-function selector and

Easy loading and unloading
The hinging on the washing machine which
allows the door to be opened to 180°,
together with a 30 cm diameter door
opening, enables excellent access into the
drum to load and unload your laundry
comfortably.

square door concealing an extra wide
door opening for comfortable loading and

The door on the W 1000 washing machines
is manufactured using a 2-com ponent
injection moulded polycarbonate (IMP).
This material is extremely hardwearing,
being the same type of material used in the
aircraft industry and for making riot shields.
It is connected to the body of the machine
with a high quality metal hinge which
enables excellent access into the machine.
The large round door on the tumble dryers
is designed to complement the door on the
washing machines and is white to match
the rest of the dryer.
Easy loading and unloading
The position of the door opening and
the angle of the drum axis have been
optimised on these new machines which,
together with a wider door opening
(33 cm on the washers, 41 cm on the
dryers), make it much easier to reach
inside the drum to load and unload your
laundry – which is better for your back.
Installation
These machines are ideal for side-by-side
installation or for installation in a washerdryer
stack. They can also be slotted under
an 85 cm high worktop.

on high-end W 5000 washing

There are 22 stain types to choose from of
which up to 3 can be selected with any
one programme. With some stains, a tip
about pre-treating the stain will appear in
the display. To ensure excellent results, the
programme parameters on a Miele
washing machine are tailored precisely to
suit each type of stain.
AutoClean detergent

In addition to specially textured
easy clean side walls and a
smooth base which residual detergent just
doesn’t stick to, a special automatic
cleaning process flushes out the detergent
drawer during every programme to ensure
it is always spotlessly clean and never
needs to be manually cleaned. Perfect for

Extra Quiet
This new option allows you to
reduce noise levels when using
your washing machine during
quiet periods, for instance when people are

Everyday laundry is often only lightly soiled
and does not need the water heated up to
high temperatures to get it clean. With
improved wash rhythms, spin and rinse
profiles and new detergents, virtually all
programmes on Miele’s W 5000 series
washing machines offer the option of
economical washing at just 20°C or Cold.
Washing at 20°C uses 67% less energy
than washing at 40°C!
Express 20
With a duration of only 20 minutes, the
Express 20 programme is ideal for washing
up to 3.5 kg of lightly soiled cotton or
minimum iron garments. Perfect for that
special occasion when you need that shirt
in a hurry.
Low energy consumption
Miele W 5000 washing machines are
extremely efficient in their use of energy.
With a standard household load of 3.5 kg,
Miele washing machines only use 0.19
kWh of energy per kg of laundry and
achieve an A rating for energy efficiency.
Wash a full 7 kg load of laundry and the
energy consumption drops to just 0.15
kWh per kg of laundry which is an amazing
20% more economical than Energy

Multi-stage filter system
There are fluff filters in the door and door
opening as well as fine filters to trap any
fluff, hair and detergent residues which
may have got through the surfaces of
the fluff filters. There is also a fine filter in
front of the heat exchanger for added
protection.
Gentle laundry care
The drying temperature has been
reduced by about 25%* (compared to a
conventional Miele tumble dryer) for all
drying programmes, ensuring excellent
care for all your laundry.
Miele’s heat-pump dryer is extremely quiet
and gives off negligible amounts of
condensate back into the room, making it
ideal for use in a “living” kitchen environment.

This option can be used to take the
creases out of clothing, or to eliminate or
reduce unwanted smells in clean clothing.
The drying air is heated for a specific
length of time and then the garments are
aired without any more heat being added.

Long life
The unbeatably quiet PWM drive increas es
the life of the motor to 15,000 work ing
hours or 20 years of washing and drying to
the average family!
Patented drum
The Miele Honeycomb drum
provides gentle care for your
laundry. The unique drum
construction cushions your garments whilst
washing them beautifully.
Low water consumption
They benefit from Fuzzy Logic and an
analogue pressure switch, taking in only as
much water as is actually needed for each
load and reducing consumption to 56 litres
per full cottons wash. A unique fan system
optimises the water used to cool and
condense the moisture from the drum
during drying, bringing water consumption
for the drying cycle down to an incredible
9 litres (compared with a market average
of 20 litres!).
Fast spin
The choice of spin speeds up to 1,600 rpm
means that residual moisture levels after
washing are very low, leading to economical
drying. Furthermore, Miele’s unique
Thermospin process uses heat during a
pre-tumbling spin to break the bond between
the water and the cloth es, reduc ing drying
times by around 10 minutes.
Sensor drying
Unlike many other washer
dryers, Miele’s models have a
genuine sensor drying system.
Information on the progress of the drying
cycle is fed from a sensor plate on the
back of the porthole door to the “brain” of
the machine, which adjusts the drying time
accordingly to ensure precise results.
Overload light
The machines are designed to take a full
wash load of 5.5 kg of cottons and a 3 kg
drying load. Of course, it’s not easy to
guess exactly how much wash ing makes
up 3 kg, but a light on the fa scia will let you
know if the machine is over loaded and will
continue to shine until you have reduced
the load to the correct amount. With a
sufficiently small wash load, the drying
cycle can be pro grammed to follow on
automatically from the washing cycle.
Flush lint cycle
The unique Miele automatic lint flush cycle
automatically flushes lint out of the
condenser unit after every other drying
programme to ensure that drying is always
efficient. To prevent coloured lint from
finding its way into a whites wash, the
manual “rinse out fluff” programme can be
selected. Water is brought into the drum
which turns at a slow spin and the motion
of the water will remove all lint from the
outer drum.

Low consumption
The WT 2780 has an A rating for washing
and energy efficiency, this makes it one of
the most energy efficient washer-dryers
on the market.
Refresh programme
The refresh programme uses steam during
the drying cycle on most programmes.
This is very efficient at reducing creasing of
textiles which in turn reduces ironing time
substantially. This feature can also be used
to freshen up clean textiles without the
need for washing them.
Express 20
The Express programme has been reduced
from 30 minutes to 20 minutes; this cycle
consists of a main wash and rinse-wash
cycle. The cycle is effective for loads up to
3 kg. A great cycle for those “on the go”.
Stains
The all new stains programme
which can be found under
extras is perfect for targeting
stains. There are 22 different stain types to
choose from, 3 of which can be selected
per cycle. This provides excellent stain
removal performance.

Express 20 and Stains, the WT 2780/
WT 2789 i also have the following programmes

Stacking and building under
All lotus white freestanding washing
machines are suitable for stacking with a
lotus white freestanding tumble dryer using
the appropriate stacking kit (WTV available
to order). The mid and high end range of
washing machines and tumble dryers can
be fitted under a continuous worktop using
the appropriate building under kit
(UBS-W/T available to order).
The external dimensions of these machines
are H x W x D: 85 x 59.5 x 58 cm.
Fitting a plinth facing
The gap between the lower edge and the
floor on all integrated wash ing machines
and tumble dryers can be closed up using
a suitable kitchen furni ture plinth facing/
kick panel. (Plinth facing/kick panel not
supplied by Miele).
Both integrated washing machines and
tumble dryers have a special groove in
which a plinth facing can be fitted.

Height: The plinth facing height must
be calculated after aligning the
height of the machine with the
screw feet or after fitting the
height-adjustment frame(s).
Installation surface
A concrete floor is the most suitable
in stallation surface for a washing machine.
If installed on wooden floorboards there is
a risk of it vibrating during the spin. We
therefore recommend the use of a plywood
base (at least 59 x 52 x 3 cm). The base
should span several joists and be bolted to
the joists and not only to the floorboards.
Check for the presence of pipes and
cables first.
If possible, install the machine in a corner,
as this is usually the most stable part of the
floor.
Integrated appliances
Integrated appliances are designed to take
a furniture door to match your kitchen.
All integrated Miele laundry machines are
supplied without a lid al lowing them to
be slipped easily under a 820–825 mm
worktop.
To integrate an appliance under a
826–840 mm high worktop 46 mm long
screw feet should be fitted in place of
those supplied with the machine.
To integrate an appliance under an
870–885 mm high worktop one raising kit
is required.
To integrate an appliance under an
915–930 mm high worktop two raising kits
are required.
The raising kit is a metal frame which is
bolted to the base of the machine and
increases the height of the machine by
50 mm.
For installation under 825 mm to 869 mm
high worktops you will need to secure a
suitable thickness plywood base to the
floor under the machine.
