Providence University College is located in a rural setting only 30 

minutes from the city of Winnipeg. Our 100-acre campus includes 

the Reimer Student Life Centre (student lounge, cafeteria, meeting 

rooms, and classrooms), gymnasium, fitness centre, soccer fields, 

computer lab, commuter lounge, bookstore, residence halls, 

apartments, library, classrooms, and lecture theatre. 

EVENTS 

Praise and worship nights, varsity home games, theatre performances, 

music recitals, concerts, student council events, Missio Dei, Providence 

Lecture Series, Day of Prayer and more – Providence offers an active 

and vibrant community. 

SPIRITUAL LIFE 

Gather with the Providence community for worship. Community 

gatherings create space for meaningful spiritual engagement 

as we share, learn, sing and pray. Providence values the spiritual 

development and faith formation of our community. 

From evening chats with dorm mates, to chapel time, latenight 

paper writing and meals in the cafeteria, it was all part 

of living life together as a community. That is why some of my 

best friends to this day are people that I met at Providence.

PERFORMING ARTS 

There are numerous performance opportunities in music open to all students at Providence University College, from 

traditional choral singing, to string ensemble and jazz band, to contemporary praise and worship. Theatre opportunities 

include large scale productions to sold-out audiences, as well as smaller troupes that perform locally in high schools and 

at various other venues. 

ATHLETICS 

Compete on inter-collegiate varsity teams in the American-based NCCAA and NCVF leagues, as well as the Manitobabased 

MCAC. Varsity sports include soccer, volleyball and basketball. Providence athletics emphasize skill development, 

leadership, and teamwork. Providence varsity teams have won conference, regional, and national championships. 

Opportunities are also provided for participation in intramurals and on club teams.

Gain insight into the historical roots of 

Christian education ministry within the

Providence helped me unlock scripture. I didn’t have much 

knowledge of the Bible before I went to Providence. The 

study of theology made the Bible come alive for me and 

provided me an opportunity for spiritual learning and 

gaining of knowledge.

the core of classic higher education. This 

major is comprised of two of the following 

three concentrations: Humanities, Social 

Sciences or Mathematics. The subject

and expressions of life. In the Humanities,

I chose Providence because it offered a Christian perspective. 

The courses I took were extremely useful. Without my 

knowledge of society, social patterns, gender socialization, 

social controls, the distribution of wealth, racial histories I 

would not have had a framework for the issues I deal with 

on a day to day basis. It was also through Social Sciences 

that I realized my passion for social justice.

Airlines have begun to prefer well-rounded 

individuals to fill their cockpits therefore 

this program is intended to provide a 

student with a firm Christian foundation 

but also the necessary skills to become a 

licensed pilot. It begins with a one-week 

intensive camp, which is designed to have 

you complete your first solo flight by 

the end of that week. Become a licensed 

private pilot, commercial pilot, or a flight 

instructor. You can combine the major 

with an Intercultural Studies minor/major 

or a Business Administration minor/major 

in a four-year B.A. program. 

I chose Providence because I wanted a university education 

that prepared me to think analytically and critically, while 

developing and refining my leadership skills. My Providence 

education was foundational and gave me the tools to pursue

beliefs and feelings and giving them our

thoughts for which words alone may 

not be enough. This program focuses on 

academic courses in music theory and 

history, the formation of musicianship,

Both the major and minor incorporate the 

TESOL certificate. Providence graduates 

are employed in over 60 countries including 

China, Japan, Ukraine, Korea, Tunisia, 

Myanmar, Yemen, Bangladesh, and Brazil. 

The Providence TESOL program is fully 

accredited by TESL Canada.

ACADEMIC ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS 

Providence University College offers Academic Entrance Scholarships (AES) to all qualified 

students entering their first year of study. Scholarships are awarded to entering students 

based upon academic achievement in grades 11 or 12. The scholarship amount is determined 

by average grade percentage. Submitting an admissions application along with a high 

school transcript will automatically qualify students for an Academic Entrance Scholarship.

Designated Scholarships 

Providence University College offers various designated scholarships to qualified students entering their first year of 

study. These scholarships are merit-based and competitive, therefore prospective students must submit a scholarship 

application (available on our website) by April 1. The financial amounts available for each recipient vary from $500 - 

$3,000 depending upon the awarded scholarship. 

Bursaries 

Providence University College offers bursaries for the purpose of student financial aid. Up to 30 new-student bursaries 

are awarded each year through groups such as the Providence Alumni and Providence Corporation. A select amount 

of bursaries are also available to those families involved in full-time Christian ministry. The financial amounts available 

range from $500-$750. Bursary applications (available on our website) must be submitted by April 1. 

Government STUDENT Loans 

Providence University College is an approved institution for financial aid by the Canada Student Loans program (all 

provinces) and FAFSA (United States). Students should apply for Canada Student Loans at least eight weeks prior to 

registration to ensure adequate processing time. 

ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTITUTE 

Preparing Students for Further Academic Studies in English 

The Providence English Language Institute provides an immersion experience while teaching English to non-native 

speakers in preparation for post-secondary education. 

Students will work on the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing English. With its strong team of English 

teachers, the ELI program offers small class sizes, personalized attention, a multi-cultural classroom, and the benefits 

of a safe and caring Christian community.

Summer TESOL Institute 

Start Your Degree from Home 

Providence offers online independent study courses that can be taken 

from anywhere in the world. These courses provide you with audio 

lectures and allow you to complete the required course work at 

a time of your convenience. These self-paced courses allow for 

maximum flexibility within a 4-month term. Distance education that 

fits your schedule. 

Work Towards Your TESOL Degree or Certificate 

The TESOL program equips those who wish to meet the growing need in 

North America and around the world for English Teachers. The Summer 

TESOL Institute provides opportunity for TESOL degree and certificate 

strudents to complete up to six courses during the summer institute, 

towards the completion of their program. Gain a semester’s worth of 

credits in only 4 weeks.
