In 2011, Stephen Wukitch was elected as an APS
Fellow.
Also in 2011, graduate student Brian Munroe won
the Best Student Paper award at the Particle Accelerator
Conference (PAC’11).
From 2009 – 2011 eight PSFC employees have
been honored with MIT Infinite Mile Awards: Administrative
Officer, Tom Hyrcaj; Project Technician,
Richard Lations; Head Mechanical Engineer,
Rui Vieira; Principal Research Scientists Bob
Granetz and Brian LaBombard; Radio-Frequency
Instrumentation Engineer, Richard Murray; Project
Technician Frank Shefton; Alternator Supervisor
Mike Rowell.
Graduate students Christian Haakonsen and Elizabeth Kowolski
received 2010 DOE Science Fellowships.
Activities
The PSFC celebrates colleague achievements
throughout the year at special social occasions,
including a summer BBQ on the grounds of MIT, an
Ice Cream Social, and an end-of-the-year Holiday
Gathering. Graduate students are also honored
yearly for their contributions to the Center’s educational
outreach activities with a dessert party,
during which they receive rewards based on the
amount of outreach they did over the past year.
Prof. Anne White is the recipient of a
Department of Energy Early Career Research
Award (2011-2016).
