From 1836 until 1840/41 heinrich Franz Dreber studied at the<br />
academy in Dresden under ludwig richter, who early on<br />
recognized Dreber’s potential and nominated him the first master<br />
student in the newly founded landscape class. after Dreber’s<br />
stay in Munich and Franconia (the Fränkische schweiz) from<br />
1841 – 43 he permanently moved to rome.<br />
“his [Dreber’s] early drawings, influenced by Julius schnorr<br />
von carolsfeld and the brothers oliver, are among the great<br />
achievements of this genre in the first half of the 19 th century.” *<br />
