From 1836 until 1840/41 heinrich Franz Dreber studied at the
academy in Dresden under ludwig richter, who early on
recognized Dreber’s potential and nominated him the first master
student in the newly founded landscape class. after Dreber’s
stay in Munich and Franconia (the Fränkische schweiz) from
1841 – 43 he permanently moved to rome.

von carolsfeld and the brothers oliver, are among the great
achievements of this genre in the first half of the 19 th century.” *
