Botswana-based Kwaito Kwassa
star Aminoni ‘Mingo’ Mojokeri
has released a compilation project
tiled From Bots to Zim that
features Tsviriyo hit maker, Jah
Prayzah and sensational dancehall
chanter Shinsoman.
The 12-track album is a collaborative
effort that features artistes
from across Southern Africa that
could take Mingo, a gifted lyricist
in his own right, to another level
musically and perhaps help him
build a fan base in Zimbabwe.
Mingo, who at the moment has
five albums under his belt, teamed
up with Prayzah on the track Keya
Gorata, a love song that fuses the
fast pace Kwasa beat with contemporary
sungura.
The song tells a story about the
need to embrace love as it comes
and making your loved ones feel
special all the times. The song was
sung in both Shona and Setwana.
The Tshaba tsotsi hit maker also
worked with dancehall crooner
Shinsoman on the track titled
Basheanyana that was produced
by Hesh Mfesh.
The song fuses the jazzy touch
and dancehall flavour that relatively
brings out a unique musical
feel complemented by the duo’s
lyrical and vocal prowess.
The song reflects back on the
duo’s career and their abrupt rise
to stardom, events that gave rise
to their careers and the entire
spotlight.
Speaking to NewsDay via the
Social Networking site facebook
from his base in Botswana, Mingo
hailed Jah Prayzah as a creative
genius citing him as a peer he always
looks up to musically.
“He is truly a whiz kid when it
comes to making music and he really
added essence and maturity to
