Masturbation, pp. 15-16, with some emphasis on girls. "Abnormalities which are<br />

a problem among young people and a challenge to the youth leader are<br />

masturbation, sexual promiscuity and homo-sexuality." (p. 15). The writer<br />

admits that claims of insanity and other physical evils resulting from<br />

masturbation have been ". . . greatly exaggerated. From the spiritual aspect,<br />

however, there is a case against masturbation." Being solitary and counter to<br />

natural sex, the practice can lead to "excessive introspection, even morbidity . . .<br />

and may induce a guilt complex with disastrous affects on the morale and the<br />

spiritual life of a young person." (p. 15)<br />

Don't screen young people to discover who is masturbating, p. 15; in the case of<br />

girls, help "should come from a woman youth leader. [p. 16]" After this brief<br />

treatment, Watson turns to the problems of sexual promiscuity and "Homosexuality"<br />

which "is more widespread than is commonly believed . . . ," p. 17.<br />
