OSHA Education Center Course Offerings 7405, 7410, 7500, 7505, 7510, 7600 7405 Fall Hazard Awareness for the Construction Industry 1 day $195 CEUs: 0.8 ABIH CM Points: 1 This one-day course provides information on identifying, evaluating, and preventing exposures to fall hazards at construction sites. The goal of the course is to provide small business owners, trainers, foremen, and employees with information on recognizing potential fall hazards at their work sites and suggest ways to avoid, minimize, control, and prevent these hazards whenever possible. The course focuses on falls to a lower level rather than falls resulting from slips and trips. Topics include identifying fall hazards, analyzing fall hazards, and preventing fall hazards, as well as OSHA resources that address fall hazards. 7410 Managing Excavation Hazards 1 day $195 CEUs: 0.8 ABIH CM Points: 1 Designed as a training course to inform employers and employees of the best practices in trenching and excavation safety, students will learn about the role and responsibility of the employer to assign a competent person to the excavation site and provide that person with the knowledge of key excavation hazards. It addresses the four core elements of an effective safety and health system and those central issues that are critical to each element’s proper management. This course has been set up as a facilitated, interactive training session. Participants are given small “chunks” of information, and then are able to test their understanding of the subject matter via participant activities and workshops. Several practice sessions included are designed to increase participant awareness and enable them to apply what they have learned when they return to their workplace. 7505 Introduction to Accident Investigation 1 day $195 CEUs: 0.8 ABIH CM Points: 1 This course provides an introduction to basic accident investigation procedures and describes accident analysis techniques. The goal of the course is to help participants gain the basic skills necessary to conduct an effective accident investigation at their workplace. Topics include the primary reasons for conducting an accident investigation, employer responsibilities related to workplace accident investigations, and a six-step accident investigation procedure. The goal of the course is to help participants gain an understanding of OSHA operations and procedures and learn how they can work with OSHA to prevent or reduce injuries and illnesses in their workplaces. Included in the course is information on the background of OSHA, standards, the inspection process, implementing a safety and health program, and assistance available to small business. 7600 Disaster Site Worker Course 2 days $450 CEUs: 0.8 ABIH CM Points: 2 The Disaster Site Worker Course is a 16-hour course for skilled construction trade workers at natural and man-made disaster sites. The course is designed to develop an awareness of incident command systems and special safety and health hazards, including CBRNE hazards that may be present at such sites. In addition, participants in this course will each complete a performance test demonstrating the ability to inspect, don, and doff a negative-pressure air-purifying respirator. 12

Course Offerings 7845, 10-HOUR GENERAL INDUSTRY, 10-HOUR CONSTRUCTION 7845 Recordkeeping Rule Seminar 1 day $195 CEUs: 0.8 ABIH CM Points: 1 This course is designed to assist employers in identifying and fulfilling their responsibilities for posting certain records, maintaining records of illnesses and injuries, and reporting specific cases to OSHA. Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to identify OSHA requirements and complete new OSHA forms 300, 300A, and 301. • Specific OSHA recordkeeping requirements • Exceptions to exemptions for small employers and employers in low-hazard industries • The mechanics of OSHA recordkeeping: location, retention, and maintenance of records • Maintenance of the log (OSHA No. 300) • Deciding if work-related injuries are recordable • Lost workday cases and reporting fatalities and multiple hospitalizations • Penalties for failing to comply with record keeping obligations OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Safety and Health Course 2 days, $195 This course is intended to provide variety awareness training on general industry safety and health topics.
