RALPH TARTAGLIA<br />

Deputy Fire Chief Ralph Tartaglia began his<br />

career with the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Roanoke</strong> as a firefighter in<br />

1976. He was promoted to a Lieutenant position in<br />

1982 and Captain in 1985. In 1999, he became a<br />

Battalion Chief, an Assistant Fire Chief in 2003 and<br />

currently serves as Deputy Chief <strong>of</strong> Operations.<br />

Chief Tartaglia has been team leader for<br />

several FEMA deployments; he is described as<br />

dependable, hardworking, fair and kind by his fellow<br />

comrades and has received numerous letters <strong>of</strong><br />

commendation from citizens and businesses over the<br />

course <strong>of</strong> his career.<br />

Deputy Fire Chief Tartaglia is to be commended<br />

for his dedication to duty as he continues to serve<br />

the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Roanoke</strong> and its citizens.
