affles International School aims at providing the highest
quality private education through its campus network. Its main focus
is on the ever-important and vital area of early years, elementary
and high school education.
At Raffles International School, we believe that every child is
different. Therefore they receive an individual learning programme
based on their needs, interests and skills. Our entire curriculum uses a
holistic approach and teaches children to be independent, enquiring
and enthusiastic learners. Raffles Nursery Programmes prepare a

Early Years Programme
Experiences are provided in the following areas to allow your child’s

PERSONAL, SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Children are encouraged to develop a positive sense of themselves
and of others, social skills and a positive disposition to learn.
COMMUNICATION, LANGUAGE AND LITERACY
Children’s learning in communication, speaking and listening, being
read to and beginning to read and write are supported in this area.
MATHEMATICAL DEVELOPMENT
Children can explore, enjoy, learn, practice, and talk about
problem solving reasoning and numeracy.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORLD
This area helps the children to make sense of the world and use
a range of tools safely, encounter creatures, people, plants and
objects in their natural environments and in real-life situations.
PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT
The physical development of young children is promoted through
opportunities for them to be active and interactive and to improve
their skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement.
CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
Children are provided with opportunities to explore and share their
thoughts, ideas and feelings in a variety of ways.

Montessori
PRACTICAL LIFE
Practical Life invites the children to act and work on real-life tasks
that foster independence, coordination, order and concentration.
SENSORIAL
The Sensorial material aims to educate the child’s senses. The
material helps to refine a child’s sense of sight, hearing, touch, taste
and smell.
LANGUAGE
The Language material is rich in vocabulary and is accurately
classified. They are taught simple writing, using the correct letter
formation.
MATHEMATICS
Mathematical concepts are presented in a very concrete and
‘hands on’ way. Children learn to work with quantities, before
learning to identify symbols and dealing with operations of addition
and subtraction.
CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
Children are provided with opportunities to explore and share their
thoughts, ideas and feelings, for example, through a variety of art,
music, movement, dance and role play.
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND PATTERNS OF LEARNING
Children are encouraged to develop a positive sense of themselves
and of others, social skills and a positive disposition to learn.

CLASSROOM
The classroom is a carefully prepared environment that
encourages children to learn individually at their own pace.
Children possess a unique ability to absorb information from their
environment. This is why we have prepared a learning environment
with a wealth of concrete, manipulative learning materials that
encourage the child to discover and learn throughout this phase
of their life. Our teachers are trained to observe each child and
help him/her be in touch with things they are most interested in
learning about. And this results in joy, immense satisfaction and
excitement about the process of learning.
INTERNATIONAL TEACHING STAFF
Our staff is rich in experiences and have proven track records.
Our teaching staff regularly undergo in-service training in order to
stay up-to-date with the latest teaching and learning methods as
well as keep up with global trends and challenges.

NURSERY TIMINGS
Nursery begins at 8am. Nursery sessions finish at 2pm.
All children are welcomed personally by their teachers each day.
Children may only leave school at the end of the day with their
parent(s), authorized persons (e.g. nanny or driver). Should parents
wish to make any alternative arrangements, they must inform their
child’s teacher or the nursery vice principal.
PARENT-TEACHER MEETINGS
Our parent-teacher meetings are held periodically to give you
the opportunity to visit the nursery and meet your child’s teacher.
You are welcome to contact us whenever you need to have any
information or guidance regarding your child. We are open to
your suggestions and look forward to your keen participation and
interest in our activities.
ASSESSMENTS AND REPORTS
Your child’s progress is observed, recorded and assessed
throughout the year. This information is conveyed to you either in
written or verbal form at least once each term.
LUNCH AND SNACK
Parents need to provide a healthy snack and a water bottle.
Currently, a daily hot lunch is provided for consumption in the
nursery at an extra charge. Parents who do not wish to avail of this
service should provide their child with a packed lunch.

Education

affles International School is managed by Innoventures
Education, one of the leading names in nursery and school
education. Innoventures Education was established in 2004 with
the vision of bringing world-class education to Dubai. Its first and
flagship school, Dubai International Academy, opened in 2005,
and within a few years, it became one of the premier international
schools in Dubai.
In 2010, Innoventures Education partnered with Emaar
Properties to take over the management of Raffles International
Schools and Nurseries in Dubai, thus increasing its portfolio to
three schools and nine nurseries.
The newest addition to the Innoventures Education portfolio
is Collegiate American School, a premium international school
