Postage Calculations and Statements<br />
• Mail.dat files are generated in List Processing through the sortation<br />
software<br />
– Information includes job specific data and facility information<br />
• Mail.dat may be modified in Monticello<br />
– Split shipments, drop shipment data, etc.<br />
• Mail.dat files are uploaded to the USPS <strong>Postal</strong>One! Site<br />
• The USPS calculates the postage based on the information in the<br />
Mail.dat files.<br />
– There are no more hard copy Postage Statements<br />
– Estimated postage can be obtained before the job is completed<br />
• The files are uploaded and used for USPS acceptance and<br />
verification<br />
