USPS Requirements – Move Update
• All discounted First-Class Mail and all Standard Mail mailings must
comply with the USPS Move Update Requirements
– Exception:
• Full rate single piece First-Class Mail
• Alternative Address
• Customer Initiated Request
• Requirement –
– Use of an USPS Authorized Move Update Method
• Nonapproved or Client internal methods do not meet USPS requirements
– Meets standard by “updating” not by doing method
– Updated addresses on mailpieces at one class of mail are qualified to be used
for other classes during current Move Update cycle
– Updates must be within 95 days prior to the date of mailing
