debris have been developed. The
results have been remarkable, with
positive records for many rivers in
southern England, where adult
colonies were not previously known.
Already, a new population has been
located at Burton Mill Pond in Sussex.

The mean number (+/- 2 SE) of colonies found on 10 sets of
artificial substrata (cones) is shown. Cones were scraped clean
after each visit.
