Scholastic Eligibility Requirements
♦
Daily Attendance
Saint Viator High School is committed to the position that academics take precedence over all cocurricular
activities. Therefore, in order to attend practice or participate in a co-curricular activity,
the student must arrive at school by 10 a.m. or cannot leave before 1 p.m. on the day of the
activity.
♦
Weekly Requirements
As a member of the Illinois High School Association, Saint Viator High School requires that each
student must be passing 25 credit hours of schoolwork per week (2.5 credits) to be eligible for cocurricular
activities. Teachers will evaluate a student’s performance EACH WEDNESDAY while
his/her sport or activity is in season and while school is in session. If the student is declared
ineligible by the Administration, his/her period of ineligibility will be a minimum of ONE WEEK,
beginning on a Monday and concluding the following Sunday. If a student is declared ineligible
before a vacation period, the student will remain ineligible until the first Sunday after school is back
in session.
