As practicing archaeologists, anthropologists, museum professionals, and other cultural<br />

specialists, we are charged with the stewardship of our cultural heritage. Maintenance and<br />

preservation of Cali<strong>for</strong>nia archaeological sites, artifacts, and associated documentation is an<br />

ongoing challenge. Professional conservators share this responsibility and should be engaged<br />

in this work. This session will highlight several ways in which conservators can assist in the<br />

recovery and documentation of sites and artifacts and how conservators and archaeologists<br />

can work together to study and preserve our cultural heritage.<br />
