through the process of creating the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition now showing at the San Diego Natural
History Museum. Through intense collaboration and guided by learning theory, a biblical scholar worked
with designers, educators, and interpretive specialists to create a richly integrated exhibition engaging a
diverse audience. Meet the team responsible for this world-class exhibition and learn how they crafted a
unique visitor experience weaving a tale that connects visitors to distant times, places and artifacts.

Born in Vienna Austria, Mrs. Hilda
Pierce received the “Award for
outstanding achievement in the field of
Art by an American citizen of foreign
birth” given by the Immigrant's Service
League of Chicago. Her paintings hang
in both the Geisel Library and the John
Moores Cancer Center on the campus of
the University of California, San Diego.
She is the author of Hilda: A True Story of
Terror, Tears and Triumph.

Jewish. My work is an ongoing journey into the light.
I create meditative spaces, utilizing ancient Kabbalistic
wisdom, erecting weightless souls and transparent beings.
In this process, I engage with the energy of light, which
results in the
permeation of
stillness and joy.”
