THE VITERBI FAMILY FOUNDATION
Erna and Andrew Viterbi and their family are strong supporters of the Jewish
community and have an interest in all facets of Jewish life. Their love for education
has been demonstrated through the Viterbi Family Torah School of Congregation
Beth El and their support for the San Diego Jewish Academy. Alan is Immediate Past
President of Beth El, as well as Immediate Past President of the Academy. Andrew
is active with Technion–Israel Institute of Technology–serving both as local ATS
chapter chairman and as a Distinguished Visiting Professor on campus. Caryn is
Immediate Past President of The Agency for Jewish Education, a Board Member of
UJF and Treasurer of the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture. Their dedication to
Jewish learning is further illustrated by a continuing commitment to the San Diego
Jewish Book Fair.They are also involved in many other Jewish organizations including
the UJF, Hadassah, Jewish Family Service, of which Audrey has been and Valerie
presently is a Board member, and the Jewish Community Foundation, of which
Andrew is Past President. The UJF Building is named in memory of Erna's parents,
Joseph and Lenka Finci. The venue for the San Diego Jewish Book Fair is reached
through the Viterbi Family Galleria in the JCC.
