EMERGENCY SERVICE TIPS — Engine<br />

These tips are given for your guidance. These preliminary jobs are to be carried out in an emergency. In normal cases the problems<br />

should be attended to in an Authorised <strong>Service</strong> outlet by following the repair procedures given in the Workshop <strong>Manual</strong>.<br />

SR. NO. PROBLEM OBSERVED PROBABLE CAUSE ACTION TO BE TAKEN<br />

ENGINE (PETROL)<br />

1. Engine not cranking Dead battery, loose or improper • Get battery checked and/or changed<br />

battery/electrical connections • Jump start using another battery<br />

• Clean & tighten connections<br />

2. Engine cranks but does not start Air in the fuel system • Get the air removed by bleeding<br />

• Check leakages & correct<br />

Engine stop solenoid fuse blown • Replace the fuse<br />

3. Engine overheats Coolant level low, coolant leakages • Check and correct leakages<br />

Top up coolant<br />

Hose collapsed/torn • Get the hose replaced<br />

Low engine oil level • Add oil<br />

Cap not sealing properly • Fit the auxiliary water tank cap<br />

correctly<br />

A.C. condenser fan not working • Get defect rectified<br />

Brakes binding • Get defect rectified<br />

Electric fan not working • Get defect rectified<br />

High delivery pressure in A.C. • Get defect rectified<br />

refrigerant circuit<br />
