The economical qualities of the MultiClass
Thanks to optionally available EEV
engines and corrosion protection by
means of cathodic dip painting, lowfloor
MultiClass vehicles are on the
road with economy and environmental
compatibility. In addition, they meet
the requirements for “Blauer Engel”
(Blue Angel) environmental
certification, which calls for low noise
emissions, production without the
use of materials that are damaging to
the ozone, and coolants and paints
with low greenhouse potential.
A
coach’s quality and reliability are ultimately
the deciding factors when it comes to its costefficiency.
In this regard as well, the low-floor
MultiClass is in a class all its own. It shows its commercial
strengths right from the start with an excellent price/
performance ratio. Maintenance and operating costs are
just as exemplary as its ease of maintenance thanks to
state-of-the-art drive technology. The results: extremely
favourable lifecycle costs and – thanks to high-quality
workmanship including undercarriage protection and
corrosion protection by means of cathodic dip painting –
incomparable value stability.
Upon request, the MultiClass is available with a Blue-
Tec ® Euro V and EEV engine. This choice constitutes a
critical contribution to responsible care of the environment
– and of your wallet. The aggregates comply with
the voluntary EEV emissions standard even without a
diesel particle filter and surpass the quality of emissions
required by the applicable Euro V standard. Moreover,
the omission of
the particle filter further reduces maintenance costs and
times. Even more seats are possible since a platform in
the rear of the passenger compartment is omitted.
With all this, SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction)
technology is a great benefit: with its help, it is possible
to convert the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust together
with ammonia into pure nitrogen and steam. A process
which is clean and also saves on fuel.

entry, you can choose
between a manually operated ramp
and a motorised one.
It is easy to recognise a low-floor MultiClass as a Setra vehicle right
from the first glance. However, the MultiClass brings genuine Setra
standards to scheduled runs in other ways as well. This applies, on
the one hand, in terms of the comfort level and, on the other hand, in
terms of the many different options available: in this regard, we are able
to facilitate your needs.
Featuring curved baggage racks, panorama windows and no-step
boarding – ideal for passenger flow and safety – the passenger
compartment boasts a particularly pleasant ambience. The specially
developed seating made by Setra sets new standards: never before
have scheduled service seats been so comfortable and yet so sturdy.
Its innovative base makes for easy movement and cleaning, its weightoptimised
construction makes it economically lightweight, and its lean
design generates valuable space.
The best of conditions also exist for heating and climate control:
draught-free, efficient air and temperature distribution ensure that your
passengers are comfortable even on long routes – with air-conditioning
available in three categories for use as required. The space for prams or
wheelchairs fits in perfectly with the compartment concept as does the
manually or electrically operated wheelchair ramp. In connection with
state-of-the-art low-floor technology, this provides you with an ideal
basis for barrier-free service.

Examples of model cockpit design
Paying special attention to the needs of the driver
when we design a coach cockpit is a Setra tradition.
This is the only way to ensure a cockpit that meets all
the requirements necessary for high levels of concentration,
relaxed driving, and also for the greatest safety, punctuality
and reliability in scheduled service provision.
The form of the cockpit is a typical example: the clear
separation protects the driver while at the same time
increasing his level of concentration. The interior is an
admirable combination of modern ergonomics and the
specifications of renowned business associations. All
instruments feature intuitive operation, and storage
compartments and trays ensure that everything remains
neat and tidy. Compartments for lost articles, emergency
equipment, fire extinguishers and personal items are
integrated in the cockpit: keeping things in order also
means safety.
Centrally positioned in the driver’s field of vision, an
intelligent multifunction display for critical data and
occurrences also serves for the purpose of onboard
diagnosis. Steering wheel and driver’s seat feature
infinitely variable adjustment. The vibration-proof fare
box is integrated in the cockpit door – easy retrofitting
of printer systems is possible. These are just a few of
many examples of the outstanding flexibility of the lowfloor
MultiClass.

for high-level safety standards in coach building.
Adapted to your specific purpose, the holistic safety
concept of the low-floor MultiClass also lives up to these
high standards.
Making driving easier.
The consistently ergonomic design of the MultiClass
cockpit ensures the utmost in operating comfort and
increased passenger safety.
Improving perception.
Powerful illumination plus state-of-the-art mirror systems
provide an additional boost in the safety level of the
low-floor MultiClass.
Minimising damages.
Perfectly positioned stop options, clear indication, e.g.
of fire extinguishers and emergency hammers, as well as
advanced LED lighting of the entry/exit areas increase the
safety of your passengers. Integrated roll bars, an interior
free from sharp edges and protrusions and efficient impact
protection features ensure additional passive safety.
Of course, we have also considered the issue of safety
from the perspective of you as an entrepreneur. The
comprehensive low-floor MultiClass offering therefore
includes options such as interior cameras and other
equipment for the prevention of vandalism.
Supporting reactions.
The electronically controlled braking system (EBS), antiblocking
system (ABS) and optional traction control system
(ASR) ensure safe braking and starting in MultiClass 400
low-floor buses. And the optional electronic stability
programme (ESP ® ) reduces risk of skidding in critical
situations.

The seating is a major quality feature
of the low-floor MultiClass. All seats
are specially designed for scheduled
service, offering top comfort at
a standard speed of 100 km/h. In
addition, the seat back boasts a
scratch- and abrasion-proof shell.
The end-to-end safety concept of the
low-floor MultiClass is reflected in
the seating: For example, all passenger
seats can be equipped with 2-point
belts as well as grips.

plus customised comfort and features, the S 415 NF is perfectly equipped for
flexible operation. It won the “Bus of the Year” award in 2009, Europe’s most

S 416 NF More passengers, lower operating costs: The S 416 NF with plenty of
sitting and standing room is the cost-efficient alternative to accommodate greater
numbers of passengers.
S 415 NF · 3-door Further faster: With only slightly fewer seats, the threedoor
version of the S 415 NF speeds up the flow of passengers – thus helping you

For your overland service, we offer you various Setra destination
indicators, integrated in an enclosed housing to ensure protection
against dust and moisture. Upon request, many other systems can be
integrated in addition to Setra’s proven destination indicators.

In deciding on the number, technology and arrangement of the doors, you
determine the flow of passengers as well as the amount of available sitting
and standing room. Several alternatives are provided for you to choose from
and can be flexibly combined in complete accordance with your requirements.
