It would appear that
broadband coverage in
Somerset does not
extend beyond the
household! Once again
it was only Katie who
came up with answers
to the bumper issue of
three questions which
were offered at Easter. Remember – chocolate is at
issue here!
1. In terms of the way maps are now drawn, why
does the phrase – ‘to orientate oneself’ not really
make sense? – Orient means East and early maps
had east at the top!
2. Given a clock face with the numbers in their usual
positions, draw a line so that the numbers on one
side of the line sum to a total which is twice the total
of the numbers on the other side of the line.- Draw a
line between 10 and 11 to between 2 and 3. One
side of the line sums to 26, the other to 52.
3. Think of three words which are pronounced
differently when the first letter is capitalized?- job,
reading, nice and polish would all have fitted the bill.
Keeping the numbers 1 to 9 in order and
interspersing them with mathematical signs can you
create an expression which totals 100? (Hint –
things like 34 and 89 are acceptable!)
