c. Persons with refugee status may apply for a Refugee Travel Document at<br />
<strong>the</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Interior <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Republic <strong>of</strong> Slovenia, and are required to<br />
enclose two personal photographs with <strong>the</strong> application. A Refugee Travel<br />
Document will be issued for a ten-year period and can be prolonged upon<br />
request. The price for <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>itial passport to be issued <strong>in</strong> May 2012 was<br />
€ 38.84 or, alternatively, € 27.50, without adm<strong>in</strong>istrative charges. A refugee<br />
without sufficient funds for subsistence at his or her disposal and without<br />
be<strong>in</strong>g provided for <strong>in</strong> some o<strong>the</strong>r way will be exempt from adm<strong>in</strong>istrative<br />
charges when apply<strong>in</strong>g for a Refugee Travel Document. This document allows<br />
you to travel to any dest<strong>in</strong>ation <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> world with <strong>the</strong> exception <strong>of</strong> your<br />
home country. If you ever return to your home country, your status <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
protection will cease.<br />
You were granted subsidiary protection<br />
Subsidiary protection is generally granted to persons who do not fulfil <strong>the</strong> conditions<br />
necessary to be granted refugee status (i.e. are not be<strong>in</strong>g systematically<br />
persecuted), but are never<strong>the</strong>less seriously endangered. This form <strong>of</strong> protection<br />
is given for a shorter period <strong>of</strong> time and may be prolonged on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> new<br />
applications. It is based on <strong>the</strong> assumption that <strong>the</strong> threat <strong>in</strong> a person’s home<br />
country will eventually cease, i.e. this person will be able to return once <strong>the</strong> circumstances<br />
are safe. You will be granted a temporary <strong>residence</strong> permit, but <strong>in</strong><br />
general your rights are similar to those <strong>of</strong> persons with refugee status <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>the</strong> right for a Travel Document (passport). In this case <strong>the</strong> Travel Document lasts<br />
as long as your subsidiary protection.<br />
