Please read the following guidelines and expectations:
Student clubs recognized by Savannah College of Art and Design exist to facilitate student development that compliments classroom learning and life experiences.
All student clubs are open to all members of the SCAD community.
All student clubs are responsible for understanding and must adhere to the SCAD student handbook and Inter-Club Council policies and procedures.
Further, all student club advisors should read and understand the expectations below.
SCAD Student Club Advisors are expected to:
• Attend all planned organized club meetings.
• Accompany student clubs on any off-campus trips.
• Manage and prevent risk in relation to club activities.
• Help club find another SCAD employee to attend if they are unavailable.
• Meet with club officers regularly.
• Serve as the first resource for any dispute within the student club.
• Help ensure that the club activities meet the mission/purpose of the club and support the mission and goals of the college.
• Be knowledgeable about the policies and procedures related to student organizations via ICC and the student handbook.
• Have a copy of the club constitution and ensure that the club follows the policies.
• Provide feedback to club officers and members.
• Serve as a mentor to the club as whole and individual club members.
• Stay aware of projects or events and offering ideas freely without dominating program planning.
