Superbowl Sunday!
Well, Super Bowl Sunday has
passed... As you know, Baltimore
beat San Francisco 34-31.
With this being the case, hopefully,
this was the team you
were rooting for.
I must say, some of those
commercials were something
else. Now remember, the Super
Bowl sponsors paid a lot of
money to get those commercial
out there during the game. The
best part of this is, you and I
will pay for these commercials
if we buy their products. This
cost will be incorporated in the
A autopsy completed on
January 23, showed that the
baby died of blunt head trauma
and the skull had a number of
fractures. The death was ruled
as a homicide as the father and
the baby were the only two in
the apartment at the time of the
injuries. It appeared that the
injuries were consistent with
some type of beating.
More Azusa Gang Members Arrested
By George Ogden
AZUSA - On Tuesday January
29, sixteen more members
of the Azusa 13 gang were arrested.
This group was added
to the 23 already in custody of
the 51 named in the federal
warrants. 12 are still outstanding.
Most all of the suspects are
Hispanic including seven
women.
The "gang" is known for racist
attacks on the black community,
especially in Azusa.
Those named in the indictment
by a federal grand jury are
said to be involved in a host of
crimes, ranging from drug trafficking
to hate crimes and including
a number of murders.
GLENDORA - Foothill
Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary
will hold its first general
meeting of the year on February
22nd in the Bidwell Forum
at the Glendora Library. The
co-presidents, Pauline
Bereuter and Pat Gowder, will
host the meeting which will be
followed by lunch and a game
of B.U.N.C.O. A quick lesson
It is believed that some of the
suspects arrested have been cooperating
with authorities for
lighter sentences.
It is believed that ICE has
also been notified, although
there has been no confirmation
of this. Often the authorities
will take a look at the citizen
status of the suspects and their
family and friends. If found that
they are in this country with a
status from illegally and/or undocumented
to permitted residence,
steps could be take to
remove these individuals and
process them for deportation.
This would take away possible
assistance to the criminal(s)
who are on the run that they
both of Arcadia. They have
been identified as members of
a well-known Asian street gang.
According to investigators,
Lam and Dong hired Juan
Carlos Cabrales, 23, male Hispanic
of Azusa to act as a "runner"
to deliver 1000 Ecstasy pills
in the form of "Mollies" to a
buyer in exchange for $5000.
Cabrales was arrested by investigators
before the transaction
was completed. Soon after he
was arrested, Lam and Dong,
who were monitoring the transaction
nearby, were located by
the investigators and arrested as
well.
Investigators continued their
investigation and worked
throughout the night to secure
a search warrant for the homes
of Lam and Dong in the unincorporated
area of Arcadia.
Inside Lam's home, investigators
found a small but functional
indoor Marijuana grow.
Several Marijuana plants and
cultivation equipment were
seized.
"Mollies" are Ecstasy pills or
MDMA made into powder form
and placed into capsules.
All three suspects are facing
various felony narcotic charges,
including possession for sales,
transportation, cultivation of
