SPECTACULAR HOME COURSE
The Bearcats play at one of the premier public courses in
the Northeast, The Links at Hiawatha Landing. Golfweek
ranked The Links No. 4 in New York State for public and
resort courses in 2009. Situated along the banks of the
Susquehanna River approximately 12 miles from campus,
The 7,200-yard Links is reminiscent of the legendary circuits
of Great Britain — the authentic links-style layout evident
in the rolling hills, windswept sand bunkers and ornamental
grasses. Hiawatha also features a 22-acre teaching center,
including a 3-hole training course. The course opened in
1994 and hosted the 1996 New York State Men’s Amateur
Championship among other regional events.
The Bearcats have hosted numerous tournaments at the
Links, including the 2002 ECAC Championship and the 2007
America East Championship.
“The Links is a perfect home course for our team because
of the challenge of the course and the outstanding practice
facilities, that give our players the opportunity to focus and
train on all aspects of their game. It is a great course and
great test. Players will be rewarded when they hit good
shots. This course definitely will separate the very good
players from the average ones.”
