INFORMATION NOTICE
The Corby Leaseholder Association Open
Seminar scheduled to take place on
Tuesday 26th January 2010 was cancelled
due to the committee unfortunately
arranging a meeting on the same day with
the Leasehold Advisory Service, which is
otherwise known as LEASE.
Members of the committee were present at a regional
seminar that was held by the East Midlands Tenant
Participation Forum on 26th November 2009 at the PERA
Innovation Park in Melton Mowbray. They attended two
interesting workshops that were delivered by LEASE and
as a result the committee arranged to have a meeting to
be given some free advice on leasehold issues that affect
leaseholders.
You may recall that LEASE is an independent advice agency
staffed by officers with legal training which is funded by
the Government to give free advice on the law affecting
residential leasehold and commonhold property.
Hopefully the committee will be able to arrange for a
representative from LEASE to attend the next Corby
Leaseholder Association Open Seminar which will take
place on Monday 10th May 2010. Watch out for further
details in the next edition of ‘talkback’
In preparation for Corby Borough
Council being able to implement its
Choice Based Lettings Scheme in 2010
the Council’s housing allocation policy
has been reviewed and agreed.
