NOTICE INVITING EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)
The Orissa Mining Corporation Limited, A Govt. of Orissa Undertaking
intends to engage a consultant having adequate knowledge and experience in
coal mining. He should be proficient in interpretation of geological reports,
preparation/ scrutiny of feasibility reports with special reference to adoption
of mining method, preparation / scrutiny of mining plan, systemic
development of mines, etc. He should also be well conversant with
environmental and social aspects of coal mining, land acquisition,
rehabilitation and resettlement issues in coal mining areas, safety aspects, etc
under various statutes.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR ENGAGEMENT OF CONSULTANT
The Orissa Mining Corporation Ltd (OMC), A Govt. of Orissa Undertaking is
a leading State PSU in the mining sector. OMC has been allotted with Utkal-D
Coal Block independently and other two coal blocks namely Nuagaon -
Telisahi and Mandakini - B jointly with other State Corporations.
OMC intends to engage a consultant to provide necessary guidance for mining
of coal and other related activities in the coal blocks already allotted/ to be
allotted in the future.
Scope of Work:
The consultant will guide/assist OMC / other co-allocattee/ JV Company
formed between OMC and other co-allocattee in the following areas:
1. Identification of suitable coal blocks for working by OMC directly or
through Joint Venture Company and obtaining necessary permission from
appropriate authorities for working the coal blocks.
2. Collection of geological and other relevant data in respect of allotted
coal blocks for coal mining as well as other free blocks identified available for
allocation by Ministry of Coal.
3. Planning/ execution of exploration in coal blocks.
4. Preparation / approval of mining plan.
5. Preparation of feasibility reports of mines, Washery/ beneficiation
plants.

6. Land acquisition for coal mining and setting up of washeries/
beneficiation plants.
7. Obtaining clearances from Ministry of Coal & other statutory bodies for
coal mining/Washery / beneficiation plant.
8. Establishing rapport with IBM, DGMS, MoEF, Ministry of Coal &
other statutory bodies for smooth execution of the work relating to mining of
coal.
9. Overall safety aspect of the mines and implementation of the approved
mining plan and DRP.
10. Liquidation of coal to different customers.
11. Working with joint venture partners as per mutually agreed upon terms
and conditions.
12. Any other work related or incidental to exploration, coal mining and
coal washing.
Terms of engagement:
1. The engagement will be on part time basis depending on work load.
2. Details of engagement, remuneration, conveyance and other terms and
conditions are negotiable.
3. The appointment will be for a period of 12 months extendable by
further periods as per mutual agreement.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. The professional should have at least a first class graduation degree in
Mining Engineering from any of the recognized Universities of India.
2. He should have at least 20 years of experience in coal mining &
beneficiation.
3. He should have served in any major coal company of India in the rank
of General Manager or above for at least 2 years.
