What do you love most about having your<br />
own label/store?<br />
We both get real joy and satisfaction seeing<br />
our design ideas come to fruition. When the<br />
container arrives and the unload is underway,<br />
unwrapping our products feels like all our<br />
Christmases have come at once.<br />
It’s tiring and exhausting but also so rewarding.<br />
And then to get lovely positive feedback from<br />
people is a real buzz.<br />
Lots of our online customers send back photos<br />
with their Milly & Eugene pieces in situ in their<br />
homes.<br />
It’s really interesting to see other people’s<br />
creativity in decorating. Our retail customers<br />
are really lovely as well and give us loads of<br />
compliments on our store. It’s full and bright<br />
and colourful and they all love it!<br />
Who are some of your favourite designers?<br />
We don’t really have any favourites. I suppose<br />
we take different aesthetics from a range of<br />
designers.<br />
We do like the chevron design and use of<br />
colour that Missoni is using right now, and<br />
intrigued also by some of the edgy designs<br />
by Moooi. We love the playfulness of their<br />
designs.<br />
What is your favourite item in your store<br />
right now and why?<br />
I love the rattan bedheads! They are bold and<br />
bright and make a feature of any bedroom.<br />
We have a bedroom set-up at the rear of the<br />
shop and I love watching the customers swoon<br />
over our cosy bedheads adorned with a pile of<br />
plush cushions, kantha quilts and crocheted<br />
patchwork blankets. It truly captures their<br />
attention. Hailey is a big fan of the glass and<br />
brass terrariums which have made a recent<br />
comeback on the homeware scene.<br />
They can be used indoors or out and plants<br />
and succulents in particular thrive in them.
