The Saint Mary’s Catholic High School Hall of Fame honors in perpetuity those outstanding
alumni, faculty, staff, and community members who, through their contributions to the arts,
business, education, government, humanities, community service, philanthropy and science,
have brought honor to themselves, Saint Mary’s Catholic High School and the communities
where they work and live.
The purpose of Saint Mary’s Hall of Fame is threefold:
First, to recognize and honor individuals who have brought fame and distinction to
SMHS and made outstanding contributions in the arts, business, education, government,
humanities, community service, philanthropy and science.
Second, to establish in the hearts and minds of our students, a motivating influence to
excel and to encourage the adoption of lofty goals in pursuit of excellence in their daily
lives.
Third, to foster pride, preserve scholarship, creativity, artistic and academic excellence
as well as citizenship by contributing to the welfare of our school and community.
There are many opportunities to support this special evening as we honor the 2009 Inductees
and recognize all Saint Mary’s Hall of Fame members at our most prestigious special event.
On Saturday, November 7, 2009 we will begin with Mass at Saint Mary’s Basilica, then our
Honorees and Inductees will be special guests at a Hall of Fame Private Reception, followed by
an evening of cocktails and fellowship at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown. Then, we will join
together in the ballroom for an exquisite culinary selection uniquely prepared for Saint Mary’s
followed by a live auction and special award presentations.
The 2009 Hall of Fame Dinner promises to be the event of the year for Saint Mary’s honorees,
alumni, parents, faculty, friends, volunteers, and community members. Don’t miss it!
Your support of this event is appreciated as we honor our special guests, raise necessary funds
for tuition assistance for students with demonstrated financial need and enhance Saint Mary’s
academic, athletic, and educational programs.
Saint Mary’s Scholarship and Benefit Fund’s Board of Directors is proud to host this year’s Hall
of Fame. The mission of Saint Mary's Scholarship and Benefit Fund is to provide resources to
Saint Mary’s Catholic High School, students, faculty and staff to ensure access to excellent
academic, social, and cultural opportunities for all students. Our goal is to help shape the lives
of young adults guided by Christian values ready to be thoughtful, responsible citizens and
leaders throughout all aspects of society.
