Stressor<br />

When we use the term stressor, we do not necessarily imply something which causes<br />

‘stress’ that exceeds the <strong>individual</strong>’s adaptive capacity, but in effect denote any<br />

environmental or other force impinging on an <strong>individual</strong> animal or group; an environmental<br />

‘challenge’ which has <strong>to</strong> be met.<br />
