Introduction to Studying the <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Sciences</strong><br />

(SCS1150) is a course <strong>of</strong>fered to all first-year<br />

students <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Faculty</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Sciences</strong>. In<br />

addition to making your transition to university<br />

smoother, the course acquaints you with <strong>Faculty</strong><br />

practices and requirements. It is specifically<br />

designed to introduce you to social science<br />

research and subject matter, as well as to provide<br />

an introduction to the courses and resource<br />

materials you can expect in your program.<br />

The pr<strong>of</strong>essors selected to teach this course bring<br />

their unique experience and expertise to the<br />

sessions, recommended readings, discussions<br />

and assignments on a wide array <strong>of</strong> topics: the<br />

environment, globalization, social exclusion,<br />

politics, etc. Space is reserved in this course for<br />

interested FSS+ students.<br />
