College seeks to replace staff departures, retirees<br />

The academic year of 2011–2012 at Laramie County<br />

Community College is coming to an end, and students,<br />

staff, administration and faculty are leaving. Some of<br />

them will return in the fall, but some will move on.<br />

The staff and administration members retiring after<br />

this semester are as follows:<br />

• Dr. Marlene Tignor, vice president of instruction,<br />

after nine years;<br />

• Dianne Lowe-Carpenter, director of counseling<br />

and campus wellness, and student services, after 22<br />

years;<br />

• Ron Bailey, campus safety and security manager,<br />

retired after 22 years;<br />

• Anna Mata, administrative assistant of counseling<br />

and campus wellness, after more than 13 years;<br />

• Diane Mordahl, accountant, after 27 years with<br />

LCCC;<br />

• Ed Bales, manager of facilities operations, after 33<br />

years;<br />

• Johnny Tafoya, maintenance technician of mechanical<br />

and plumbing, after 34 years;<br />

• Grace McDuffie, office assistant in the physical plant,<br />

after 17 years;<br />

• and Marlene Lyday, accounting technician for<br />

student accounts, administration and finance, after<br />

serving LCCC for 16 years.<br />

Faculty who are leaving LCCC are as follows:<br />

• Nancy Cornish, instructor of choral music, director<br />

of choral activities, LCCC Collegiate Chorale and<br />

Kantorei, after nine years;<br />

• Will Golden, equine instructor and horse judging<br />

coach, left at the end of the fall 2011 semester and<br />

started his new position as equine program manager<br />

at Virginia Tech University;<br />

• and Celia Teague, instructor for nursing, health science<br />

and wellness.<br />

Positions waiting to be filled are as follows:<br />

• Art instructor;<br />

• Four nursing instructors;<br />

• Accounting tech-student services;<br />

• Math lab coordinator/instructor;<br />

• Math ACC instructor;<br />

• Music instructor;<br />

• Physical plant office assistant;<br />

• Office assistant;<br />

• Equine instructor;<br />

• Education, natural and social sciences division dean;<br />

• A health science and wellness division dean;<br />

• And vice president of student services.
