8 Aircraft Ground Handling and Servicing<br />
8.13 Main Gear Servicing<br />
The REMOS GX is equipped with a steel main gear. As with the<br />
fuselage, the main gear requires no regular servicing. The hydraulic<br />
hoses of the brake system are located hidden from the strut covers.<br />
A visual <strong>ch</strong>eck for scrat<strong>ch</strong>es, cracks and tire condition has to be<br />
carried out prior to ea<strong>ch</strong> flight. Repair works to the main gear must<br />
only be conducted by skilled and authorized persons. No welding of<br />
any part of the whole assembly is allowed. In case of damage the<br />
defective part must be replaced. Air pressure within the tires should<br />
be maintained at 29 to 34 psi. Please also <strong>ch</strong>eck slip marking on<br />
ea<strong>ch</strong> wheel prior to every flight. With the steel main gear installed,<br />
you may also operate the plane without the wheel fairings installed.<br />
8.14 Hydraulic Brakes and Wheels<br />
The REMOS GX wheels consit of three aluminum rims connected to<br />
a wheel hub, a multiply tire is installed together with an inner tube.<br />
Please wat<strong>ch</strong> for correct air pressure to avoid damage to the wheels.<br />
A hydraulic brake system with a single brake disc is installed to ea<strong>ch</strong><br />
wheel of the main gear.<br />
