The Steadicam Ultra 2
The NEW Ultra 2 is the world’s best Steadicam
with the most advanced features. User-friendly and
field-serviceable, tool-free, straightforward and versatile,
the Ultra 2 makes your operating better and hassle-free.
The new G-70 arm is light, (under 11lbs.) and strong. It’s dual
co-axial springs can lift 13-70 pounds with a boom range that
exceeds any other arm out there – 32 inches! It is by far the
smoothest, most responsive arm ever built. The first time you
can feel how the arm behaves, regardless of the weight you are
carrying. With the “Geo” feature, you can tune your arm to
your preferences for each shot. Even the arm post system
incorporates an adjustable drag that does not change
when you change posts.
Major improvements to the sled include a super
stiff camera mounting stage with “go to”
motors, a deeply integrated tilt head, and a
wider range of adjustment than ever before.
Positive locking post clamps means that nothing sticks out to
catch you or a cable. The Ultra 2 Gimbal is incredibly strong
and the post clamp
blends into the handle for
a better operating grip.
There’s even an ergonomic
remote control for the “go to”
stage motors.
The Ultra 2 monitor mount is stronger,
easier to flip for low mode, and has
a wider range of positions,
both vertically
and horizontally.

The new Steadicam/IDX Power Cube
is the most advanced available. The
two-battery 29.6 volt system easily handles
10 amps continuously, and up to 24
amps for short periods of time. Each
battery is rated at
6000mAh - they
can handle any
camera's power
requirements.
You can even
rotate the battery
horizontally or
below the rods to
balance heavy
cameras or to
control the sled's
inertia.
Circuit boards, both in the base
and the camera mounting
stage, make for reliable connections,
easy upgrades, and
servicing.
Hidden in the bottom dovetail
is an adjustable shelf for
mounting a Mini-DV camera
or digital recorder. The voltage
on the accessory power jack is
user adjustable.
The Ultra 2 vest
is the strongest
front-mounted
vest in the world.
Double Vee shoulder clips, cross back straps, new spar and
clamps, and over center buckles, provide the most secure comfortable
fit. Light and unobtrusive, it works with your body and
the G-70 arm to produce the smoothest possible shots. And the
Ultra 2 vest still has the world’s best quick release system.
