54 DOXOLOGIES FOR THE SEASONS DOXOLOGY OF GABRIEL THE ANGEL You are truly great, O messenger of good tidings, Among the choirs of the angels, And the heavenly orders. O Gabriel the Evangel, The great among the angels, And the holy orders on high, Who carry flaming fiery swords. Daniel the prophet Has seen your honour. You have revealed unto him The mystery of the Trinity. To Zechariah the priest, You have brought the good news Of the birth of the fore-runner, John the Baptizer. Likewise, saying to the Virgin, “Blessed are you, filled with grace: The Lord is with you. You shall bring forth The Saviour of the whole world.” Intercede on our behalf, O holy archangel, Gabriel the Angel-Evangel, That He may forgive us our sins.
