<strong>Tees</strong>, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundati<strong>on</strong> Trust provides a range<br />

of mental health, learning disability and substance misuse<br />

services for the 1.3 milli<strong>on</strong> people living in County Durham, the <strong>Tees</strong><br />

Valley and the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale areas of North<br />

Yorkshire.<br />

Our service users and their carers are at the heart of everything we<br />

do and we are c<strong>on</strong>tinuously developing our services to better meet<br />

their individual needs.<br />

We want to make sure that people are able to access the specialist<br />

care and treatment they need quickly and as near to their homes as<br />

possible.<br />

The staff involved in the care of people with mental health needs<br />

from health and social care have joined together to form community<br />

mental health teams. This includes social workers, community<br />

mental health nurses, doctors, occupati<strong>on</strong>al therapists, and support<br />

workers.<br />

The community mental health teams work with people with mental<br />

health needs to identify:<br />

What do I do in a crisis?<br />

C<strong>on</strong>tact the team between 9am and 5pm, M<strong>on</strong>day to<br />

Friday and ask for your worker or the duty worker.<br />

questi<strong>on</strong>s more than <strong>on</strong>ce. This way of arranging the services<br />
