Pool Party Rentals<br />

Any <strong>of</strong> the listed pools may be rented for parties. There will be no pool rentals on holidays.<br />

Rentals are only available during non-public swim time. Minimum rental time is<br />

two hours and certified lifeguards are provided. We will begin accepting reservations on<br />

Wednesday, 5/1. To make a reservation or for more information, please call Patrick Love<br />

at 255-4608.<br />

Times: SAT-SUN 9:30-11:30AM, and 5:30-7:30PM beginning 5/25<br />

Cost: 1-50 patrons $53/$64 per hour<br />

51-75 patrons $70/$84 per hour<br />

76-100 patrons $85/$102 per hour<br />

Swim Teams<br />

<strong>Melbourne</strong> Mako Sharks Swim Teams<br />

Space is Limited! Registrations for swim teams will start on 5/18 online or in person<br />

from 8:30-10:30AM at the Eau Gallie Civic Center and will end on 5/31.<br />

Swim team registration fees are $80/$96. Additional fees for swim meets and supplies<br />

and equipment may apply. On Wednesday, 5/29, there will be a mandatory swim test<br />

and equipment purchasing at Fee Avenue Pool from 9:00-11:00AM.<br />

Swim Lessons<br />

American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors will teach all lessons. Swim Lessons<br />

will be at Fee and Sherwood pools. Registration will be at the Eau Gallie Civic Center on<br />

Saturday, 5/18, from 8:30-10:30AM for sessions 1 & 2. Registration for session 1 will end<br />

5/31. Registration for session 2 will end 6/14. Registration for sessions 3 & 4 will be on<br />

Saturday, 6/29, from 8:30-10:30AM. Registration for session 3 will end 7/5. Registration<br />

for session 4 will end 7/19. Water safety instructors test children to determine their level<br />

and may move children to the appropriate level based on current skills. Please call (321)<br />

255-4608 for more information. No registration will be taken before the specified dates<br />

listed above. All registrations must be done in person at the Eau Gallie Civic Center.<br />

Swim Lesson Fees: $41.00/$49.00 per session<br />

Sessions: (1) 6/3-13 (MON-THUR) Cut <strong>of</strong>f for registration is 5/31<br />

(2) 6/17-27 (MON-THUR) Cut <strong>of</strong>f for registration is 6/14<br />

(3) 7/8-18 (MON-THUR) Cut <strong>of</strong>f for registration is 7/5<br />

(4) 7/22 - 8/1 (MON-THUR) Cut <strong>of</strong>f for registration is 7/19<br />

Swimming lessons will be canceled if there is thunder/lightning 5 minutes before regular<br />

scheduled class time or during the class. The <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Melbourne</strong> will provide one makeup<br />

lesson on Friday if lessons are canceled due to inclement weather. During the session,<br />

NO makeups or refunds will be available for cancellations exceeding the one-day makeup<br />

allowance.<br />

Day Care Center Swim<br />

Day care centers may rent pool time at Fee and Lipscomb and Sherwood pools beginning<br />

Tuesday, 5/28. No day care center will be admitted during open swim time. We<br />

will begin accepting reservations on Wednesday, 5/1. To make a reservation or for more<br />

information, please call Patrick Love at (321) 255-4608.<br />

Cost: <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Melbourne</strong> day care centers $53.00 per hour<br />

non-<strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Melbourne</strong> day care centers $64.00 per hour<br />

Water Aerobics (starting Monday, 6/3 - 8/1)<br />

Sign up for classes at the Fee Avenue pool on the day <strong>of</strong> each class. Designed to provide<br />

exercise in a low-impact environment. Increase mobility, fitness, heart rate, strength and<br />

flexibility by performing aerobics in the water. Light weights used for resistance.<br />

MON - THUR 7:00-7:45PM $3/$4 per class<br />

Advanced Swim Team<br />

Increase endurance while swimming the following strokes: front crawl (freestyle), back<br />

crawl (backstroke), butterfly and breaststroke. Swimming fitness and etiquette practiced.<br />

Novice Swim Team<br />

There are no skills or age prerequisites for the novice team. Stroke refinement, technique<br />

and efficiency will be the focus. Increase endurance while swimming the following<br />

strokes: front crawl (freestyle), back crawl (backstroke), butterfly and breaststroke. Swimming<br />

fitness and etiquette practiced.<br />

Swim Lesson Class Descriptions *Certified Swim Instructors will determine skill levels<br />

Parent/Child Aquatics - Ages 6 – 36 months<br />

Parent/Child Aquatics is designed to orient young children to the water and prepare them<br />

to learn to swim in the American Red Cross preschool courses.<br />

Preschool Levels 1-3 – Ages 3 – 5 years<br />

Basic introductory water skills such as pool entry and exit, submerge face, blowing<br />

bubbles and supported back and front floats are practiced.<br />

* Level 1 – Ages 5 & up. Basic introductory water skills such as submerge face/head,<br />

blowing bubbles and supported/unsupported back and front floats are practiced.<br />

* Level 2 – Ages 5 & up. Independent water entry and exit, submerge head, unsupported<br />

front/back floats and glides and treading water. Swim using any combination <strong>of</strong> arm and<br />

leg action for 15 feet will be performed on front, back and side.<br />

* Level 3 – Ages 5 & up. Sitting and kneeling dives, rotary breathing, front and back<br />

glides with two different kicks for each, tread water for 30 seconds.<br />

* Level 4 – Ages 5 & up<br />

This class will build on skills learned in level 3. Compact or stride dive, feet-first surface<br />

dive, open turn with streamline push <strong>of</strong>f, tread water one minute using either modified<br />

scissors, breaststroke or rotary kick and sculling arm motions.<br />

Adult Swim Classes<br />

Designed for adults who want to conquer a fear <strong>of</strong> water and learn to swim.
