2012 Accomplishments
Information Technology (IT)
• Achieved 99.95% uptime, less than 4.38 hours per
year of unscheduled downtime.
• HelpDesk resolution: 95% within one business
day, 98% within three business days.
• Continuing parish-wide network and server upgrade,
with no unscheduled downtime.
• GEMs (financials) upgrade, with no unscheduled
downtime.
• eMail system upgrade, with no unscheduled
downtime.
• Application development projects completed and
field tested: Special Needs Shelter Manager and
Post- Storm Assessment Tool.
• eDiscovery production of well over 100,000
records.
• INTRANET: MySTPGov – expanded and upgraded
capabilities.

• Expanded services in the Parish, including
eDiscovery processing
Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
• Parcel Geocoding Project This project encompasses
geocoding every non-coded parcel in St. Tammany
Parish. This project also expands the feature sets,
which includes: assessor, clerk and other
information related to that parcel. This multi-year
project is one most significant GIS project the
Parish has ever undertaken. The initial phase has
been completed and the data is being reviewed for
inclusion in the parcel database.
• Electronic Data Sharing Project (EDSP):
a multi-organizational parish group which meets
to discuss GIS collaboration by sharing expertise
and data.
• GIS Mapping system expanded to cover more than
980 square miles, including: A graphical representation
of land and water environments
• Land topography
• Parcel / Subdivision Information
• Addresses: Residents, Business, and governmental
• Descriptive data about the information displayed
• Work with 911 and fire districts to update/correct
and validate street centerlines and addresses
• Sales Tax vendors and annexation updates
• Council Moratorium map revisions
• Enterprise Zone project endorsement maps
• Hazard Mitigation Repetitive Loss Properties
• Public GIS Portal maintenance and updates
• Digitize/ collect data from utility company acquisitions
for Environmental Services
• Census data collection and distribution
• Parcel data acquisition project
• Legal Plotting of Parish property and property in
litigation, ROW, etc.
• Disaster Response Area Maps for CAO and
Engineering
• REACT and stream gauge enhancement project.
This project was undertaken to facilitate the
collection and display of stream gauge data for use
by OEP and Engineering and continued support in
the event of an emergency.
• GIS Migration Project. This project will provide
additional resources and GIS software resources
to expand on our GIS web presence and allow us
to leverage technology as a means to reduce costs.
Planning for this project began in 2012.
