Folk heritage, delicious foods and au<strong>the</strong>ntic music during<br />

<strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Festival</strong>. Wagrain-Kleinarl is as colorful as <strong>the</strong> autumn<br />

itself. <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> is also about enjoying everything<br />

life has to offer. At <strong>the</strong> Pumpkin <strong>Festival</strong>, visitors<br />

discover some really big “prize specimens” as well as all<br />

different kinds of pumpkin variations.<br />

The highlight of <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> is undoubtedly <strong>the</strong> <strong>tradition</strong>al<br />

Almabtrieb event, which includes a <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Festival</strong><br />

fair where guests’ taste buds are treated to popular regional<br />

favorites.<br />

Pumpkin <strong>Festival</strong> on Friday, 19. September 2014<br />

From 2 p.m. on Wagrain market square<br />

Traditional pumpkin festival with delicious specialties<br />

from local kitchens and cellars. You will be treated to<br />

home-baked cakes, jams, liqueurs, food samples, pumpkin<br />

variants, doughnuts, pumpkin strudel and more. For<br />

<strong>the</strong> children <strong>the</strong>re is a big play area including large-size<br />

“Matador” building blocks. Folk dance groups from Wagrain<br />

as well as music performed by “Plankenauer Tanzlmusi”<br />

are sure to appeal to everyone’s eyes and ears.<br />

We ask all pumpkin fans and pumpkin producers to<br />

bring by <strong>the</strong>ir prize specimens. Whe<strong>the</strong>r big or small,<br />

straight or bent, monochrome or multicolored – every<br />

pumpkin is a candidate to be selected as king of <strong>the</strong><br />

pumpkin family.<br />

So, keep your pumpkins safe and bring <strong>the</strong>m to market<br />

square on Friday 19 September at 2 p.m. for a weighing<br />

and to show <strong>the</strong>m off to <strong>the</strong> public.<br />

At 3 p.m. vintage tractors from Wagrain and Kleinarl<br />

will be driven through our market community. Afterwards,<br />

<strong>the</strong> tractors can be admired in front of SPIZ sport<br />

shop in Wagrain.<br />

crafts: threshing, spinning, shingle making, sheep<br />

shearing, basket weaving ...<br />

Wagrain’s farmers guarantee you will never go hungry or<br />

thirsty, offering freshly baked bread, meat pasties, bratwurst,<br />

farmhouse doughnuts, coffee, cake and much<br />

more.<br />

As is <strong>the</strong> case every year, visitors have <strong>the</strong> chance to buy<br />

home-baked, home-crafted and homemade products.<br />

For all our little visitors we have a crafts and play area<br />

including “Matador” building blocks.<br />

The team from Restaurant Point also serves food and<br />

drinks.


Almabtrieb on Saturday, 20. September 2014<br />

From 2 p.m. at Wagrain market square<br />

At about 2 p.m. <strong>the</strong> <strong>tradition</strong>al Almabtrieb parade will be<br />

held, with animals from <strong>the</strong> Griesbauer farm <strong>the</strong>re for<br />

guests to admire. Also participating are local equestrian<br />

groups and whip crackers. A good atmosphere and live<br />

entertainment are guaranteed by <strong>the</strong> “Strochner Böhmische“.<br />

Herbert Gmeiner leads audiences through <strong>the</strong> full events<br />

program.<br />

All participants, as well as <strong>the</strong> team from Wagrain-<br />

Kleinarl Tourism, look forward to having lots of people<br />

attend.<br />

Important news for car drivers:<br />

Due to <strong>the</strong> Almabtrieb parade, <strong>the</strong> Kleinarler Landesstrasse<br />

between Wagrain market church / Obermoser and<br />

<strong>the</strong> Wagrain Grafenberg lift car park will be blocked off<br />

between about 2 and 3 p.m. We appreciate your cooperation.
