Folk heritage, delicious foods and authentic music during
Harvest Festival. Wagrain-Kleinarl is as colorful as the autumn
itself. Harvest Festival is also about enjoying everything
life has to offer. At the Pumpkin Festival, visitors
discover some really big “prize specimens” as well as all
different kinds of pumpkin variations.
The highlight of Harvest Festival is undoubtedly the traditional
Almabtrieb event, which includes a Harvest Festival
fair where guests’ taste buds are treated to popular regional
favorites.

lift; ride up, followed by hike via

Actual walking time: 4 hrs.
2nd Tour: Meets 10 a.m. at Kleinarl
Tourist Office, up the mountain
via Hirschleiten, along a forestry
path to the Kitzsteinalm.
After a pleasant afternoon together,
we will hike back down
to the valley. Walking time: 2
hrs.

Pumpkin Festival on Friday, 19. September 2014
From 2 p.m. on Wagrain market square
Traditional pumpkin festival with delicious specialties
from local kitchens and cellars. You will be treated to
home-baked cakes, jams, liqueurs, food samples, pumpkin
variants, doughnuts, pumpkin strudel and more. For
the children there is a big play area including large-size
“Matador” building blocks. Folk dance groups from Wagrain
as well as music performed by “Plankenauer Tanzlmusi”
are sure to appeal to everyone’s eyes and ears.
We ask all pumpkin fans and pumpkin producers to
bring by their prize specimens. Whether big or small,
straight or bent, monochrome or multicolored – every
pumpkin is a candidate to be selected as king of the
pumpkin family.
So, keep your pumpkins safe and bring them to market
square on Friday 19 September at 2 p.m. for a weighing
and to show them off to the public.
At 3 p.m. vintage tractors from Wagrain and Kleinarl
will be driven through our market community. Afterwards,
the tractors can be admired in front of SPIZ sport
shop in Wagrain.

Fashion show on Friday, 19. September 2014
From 7 p.m. on Wagrain market square

Harvest Festival Fair on Saturday, 20. September 2014
From 11 a.m. at Wagrain market square
Harvest Festival Fair incl. demonstrations of local country
crafts: threshing, spinning, shingle making, sheep
shearing, basket weaving ...
Wagrain’s farmers guarantee you will never go hungry or
thirsty, offering freshly baked bread, meat pasties, bratwurst,
farmhouse doughnuts, coffee, cake and much
more.
As is the case every year, visitors have the chance to buy
home-baked, home-crafted and homemade products.
For all our little visitors we have a crafts and play area
including “Matador” building blocks.
The team from Restaurant Point also serves food and
drinks.

Almabtrieb on Saturday, 20. September 2014
From 2 p.m. at Wagrain market square
At about 2 p.m. the traditional Almabtrieb parade will be
held, with animals from the Griesbauer farm there for
guests to admire. Also participating are local equestrian
groups and whip crackers. A good atmosphere and live
entertainment are guaranteed by the “Strochner Böhmische“.
Herbert Gmeiner leads audiences through the full events
program.
All participants, as well as the team from Wagrain-
Kleinarl Tourism, look forward to having lots of people
attend.
Important news for car drivers:
Due to the Almabtrieb parade, the Kleinarler Landesstrasse
between Wagrain market church / Obermoser and
the Wagrain Grafenberg lift car park will be blocked off
between about 2 and 3 p.m. We appreciate your cooperation.
