The 10 Bad Habits of Online Students and How to Address Them
Successfully.
This presentation is designed to gain a better understanding of
some common habits of online learners. We will review the 10
most common counterproductive learning habits and discuss how
to address them in the creation and delivery of online courses.
Topics include: computer literacy, course orientation, passivity,
expediency, perfectionism, superficiality, educational criticism,
competitiveness and more. We’ll also take a closer look at several
positive strategies to increase online participation and retention.
Most importantly, you’ll learn how to incorporate these strategies
successfully.
Special note: This workshop will take place online on a Sunday
afternoon when most of you will be at home. If you plan to attend,
please send a request for a link to the presenter a day before or
the morning of the workshop. Send the request to
jsalvado@sunyrockland.edu. The link you receive will place you in
a virtual classroom with a chat room on the left and a Power Point
presentation on the right. To participate in the audio portion of
this presentation, your PC must be equipped with speakers and
microphone/headphone.
