7 th International Gas Turbine Conference –
“The Future of Gas Turbine Technology”
The International Gas Turbine Conference, organised
biennially, aims to highlight the role that gas turbine
technology could play in the future and raise the awareness
of gas turbine (GT) technology development needs
– from both oil & gas and power generation operators’
perspectives. The conference will also provide the opportunity
to meet and exchange ideas with policy makers,
high level executives and GT experts from the whole
value chain attending from Europe, North and South
America, Middle East, and Asia. The conference will highlight
and discuss the energy market outlook in Europe
and globally, as well as to present recent developments
and on-going R&D activities for flexible, efficient and
environmentally sound gas turbines.
The 7 th International Gas Turbine Conference (IGTC-14)
take place October 14-15 in Brussels Belgium and will will
focus on the required future GT technology developments
from a user’s and a political point of view.

3 rd annual Gas Asia Summit
Across Europe and Asia, many pose the question –
what role will natural gas play in the future energy
mix in relation to coal, oil, natural gas, renewables and
nuclear? In the recent years, natural gas has slowly started
to increase its share in the energy mix within many countries.
It has become a favoured fossil fuel choice over coal
and oil due to its lower carbon emissions and also higher
fuel efficiency - but at what price point does natural gas
become a less attractive option?
These concerns will be addressed at the 3 rd annual
Gas Asia Summit (GAS) in Singapore this October.
Mr Varro will join Dr Anthony Barker, General Manager
for BG Singapore Gas Marketing, and Ken Koyama, Managing
Director and Chief Economist, Charge of Strategy
Research Unit for the Institute of Energy Economics,
Japan (IEEJ) to discuss whether gas is displacing coal in
the energy mix, the drive towards cleaner fuels, and the
role nuclear will play in the coming decade.
The agenda for this year’s Summit has been developed
around the theme “Multilateral Cooperation to Connect
Gas Markets”.
GAS will be held from 29 to 31 October as part of the
annual Singapore International
Energy Week (SIEW)
organised by the Energy
Market Authority (EMA) of
Singapore. Over 250 international
and regional VIPs and
C-level executives attend
the Summit each year.

South East Europe Oil & Gas Exhibition and
Conference
Officially supported by the Ministry of Environment,
Energy and Climate Change, the South East Europe Oil &
Gas Exhibition and Conference will take place on 25 - 27
November 2014 at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens,
Greece. This event will focus on developments in Albania,
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Cyprus,
Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia,
Fyrom, Israel, Italy and Turkey, all which will be connected
to the host country, Greece, via existing and
planned pipeline projects.
