The Mission of MYC is to create an environment for mothers that will
provide the opportunity for spiritual, emotional, personal and intellectual
growth. We will do our best to provide that support. If you have a friend or
neighbor you would like to know better, or know someone new to the area,

Senior Brunch Upcoming
MYC sponsors an annual Seniors Brunch on March 15 in the Koenig
Center. Please know we will be looking for food donations and volunteers
soon for the Seniors Brunch. We hope to have a big turnout as this event is
especially enjoyed by our seniors! For information or ways to contribute
please contact Jennifer Crane or Jennifer Boller.
Our Lenten Season Has Begun
The 40 days of Lent, which precedes Easter is based on two Biblical
accounts: the 40 years of wilderness wandering by the Israelites and our
Lord's 40 days in the desert.
Each year the Church observes Lent where we, like Israel and our Lord, are
tested. We are encouraged to participate in abstinence, times of fasting,
confession and acts of mercy to strengthen our faith and devotional
disciplines.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states, "The seasons and days of
penance in the course of the liturgical year (Lent, and each Friday in
memory of the death of the Lord) are intense moments of the Church's
penitential practice. These times are particularly appropriate for spiritual
exercises, penitential liturgies and pilgrimages as signs of penance,
voluntary self-denial such as fasting and almsgiving, and fraternal sharing
(charitable and missionary works)." (CCC 1438)

Volunteer Opportunity
MYC is putting together tags to be hung
in church for Lenten Almsgiving on
Saturday, March 10th from 8:00am to
11:00am. Contact Kristin Sheridan

stop by for just part of the time as well.

that too. We will be in the Formation

Book Club
Book Club meets the third Tuesday of
every other month (Jan, Mar, May, Jul,
Sept, Nov). We will be meeting at the home
of Lynda Flayter at 7:30pm on Tuesday,

“Hunger Games”. Light appetizers and

Food Pantry Donations Needed
MYC is supporting the St. Joseph Food Pantry (right here in the
Formation Center!) You can bring food items with you to any of our
meetings and place them in the box at the front of the room. Bring your
items to our weekly meeting to be totaled, or you can drop items off
during Food Pantry hours: Mondays and Thursdays 11:30am-1:30pm.
Any non-perishable item is acceptable.
