The Mission of MYC is to create an environment for mothers that will
provide the opportunity for spiritual, emotional, personal, and intellectual
growth. We will do our best to provide that support. If you have a friend or
neighbor you would like to know better, or know someone new to the area,
invite her to MYC. Please know we welcome anyone that is interested.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
MYC Bible Study begins in October
MYC is starting a Bible Study based on the book “Finding Christ in
Your Marriage,” which can be purchased on Amazon for $7.95. The
book is divided into 6 weeks of discussions. We will encourage all of
those to participate to get the book, since it includes all of the bible
readings within it, but we welcome all who want to attend even if they
don’t have the book. Also, it is not necessary to attend all sessions to get
value from the discussions. The first two discussions will be Monday,
October 1 st and Monday, October 15 th , from 8:00-9:30 p.m., at the home
of Carrie Groth. For more information, contact Carrie Groth.
Save the date for the MYC Bake Sale
Our annual bake sale will follow all Masses on Saturday, October 13 th ,
and Sunday, October 14 th . Last year’s bake sale was a huge success, so
please help us continue this tradition! The proceeds from the bake sale
will benefit Angels for Avery.
We need everyone to make lots of delicious baked goods for the sale.
Spread the word and see if your friends, family, and neighbors would
like to help as well! Volunteers are needed for baking and to help sell
after each Mass. Please look for more information on cmomgo.com, via
email, and at the MYC meetings. If you can bake or help sell, please
contact Kara Czaplewski.

Game Night
The next Game Night will be hosted
by Kristen Sheridan and Kristen
Dowd on Wednesday, October 3 rd , at
Kristen Sheridan’s house. Come join
us for a night of socializing and

We are looking for hosts/co-hosts for
future game nights. Hosts and cohosts
provide light refreshments and
choose the games to be played. For

Book Club
The next Book Club will be in early
November (date TBD) at Carrie
Groth’s house. Please join us to
discuss the book The Invisible Wall
by Harry Bernstein. All moms are
welcome, even if you have not had a
chance to read the book. Please

Register now for Oktoberfest!
Oktoberfest will be Saturday, October 13 th , from 6:06 p.m. to 10:37 p.m.
Admission is $10 per person (free for children under 5; $25 maximum
per family). Beer and wine tickets are $3, and root beer and lemonade are
free. Seating is limited, so register now at www.stjoseph-libertyville.org.

Opportunities to help!
Food Pantry
MYC is supporting the St. Joseph
Food Pantry! Please help us reach
our goal of collecting 600 items. As
of September 18, we have collected
29 items. You can bring food items
with you to any of our meetings and
place them in the box at the front of
the room. Any non-perishable item is
acceptable.
Ladies’ Night Out: Therese Crowne Design
Ladies’ Night Out will be Thursday, October 18 th , at Therese Crowe
Design in Lake Forest. Shop for a special addition to your jewelry
collection or add something to your “wish list” that your hubby can pick
up for Christmas!
Therese Crowe has mastered a one-of-a kind jewelry art. Her designs are
inspired by her love of architectural form and nature’s influence. Every
piece is personally created in her studio in Chicago, and she describes her
style as “timeless, decadent, and wearable.” We will have a limited
number of spaces for attendees, but all are welcome to join us for cocktails
at Deerpath Inn later in the evening.
Here is the Food Pantry’s wish list:

Volunteers are always needed to
make and distribute bags to the
needy at the pantry.
Family dinners
If you are looking for ways to help
out other moms in the community
who have recently welcomed a baby
or are going through a tough time,
consider signing up to make a family
dinner. Jen Boller or Jen Crane will
contact you when there is a mom in
need and ask you to make a meal for
a family. If you are able to do it,
you will coordinate with the family,
but if it is not a good time for you,
we will go to the next person on the
list. Thanks for helping out with this
great service from MYC!
Drop-in Playgroup
Join us for a special drop-in
playgroup at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday,
October 25 th , at Independence
Grove.
MYC board member Kristen Dowd
(and certified instructor) has offered
to teach a free Stroller Strides class
for MYC members. Stroller Strides is
a fitness class for moms. It is a great
way to get in shape, meet other
moms, and have fun with your baby
or toddler! The class is designed for
all different fitness levels.
The class is one hour in length and
includes power walking and strength
as well as body toning intervals, and
it ends with 10 minutes of abs and
stretching. Babies from 6 weeks to
any age are welcome! Bring your
stroller and meet by the
playground. In case of rain, we will
meet at the Libertyville Sports
Complex.

live comedian, dancing, raffle, and

benefit Helping from Heaven, a
non-profit foundation dedicated to
improving the comfort and quality
of life for children with special
