Every Kestrel pack features the AirScape<br />
backpanel – a mesh covered 5MM ridge<br />
molded foam backpanel providing excellent<br />
ventilation, comfort and load support.<br />

INTEGRATED RAINCOVER<br />
Every <strong>Osprey</strong> Kestrel pack comes with<br />
an integrated, removable raincover.<br />
To operate, A locate raincover icon<br />
near the base of the pack and unzip<br />
raincover compartment, B pull raincover<br />
from compartment and slip over<br />
top and bottom of pack; C tension into<br />
place using the cord lock at the bottom<br />
of the raincover. Reverse this process<br />
to return raincover to compartment.<br />
Note: To remove the raincover, entirely<br />
undo the webbing which attaches to<br />
the cord loop.<br />
STOW ON THE GO <br />
ATTACHMENT SYSTEM<br />
Your <strong>Osprey</strong> Kestrel Series pack comes<br />
with a Stow On The Go trekking pole<br />
attachment system designed to conveniently<br />
stow your poles when not in<br />
use. To operate: shorten trekking poles<br />
to a manageable size, A locate the<br />
elasticized cord loop spanning the side<br />
pocket on the left side of pack then pull<br />
loop away from the side pocket and<br />
insert the basket end of your poles. B<br />
On the left harness strap locate the<br />
trekking pole icon, C engage the cord<br />
lock beneath the hypalon patch with<br />
your thumb and forefinger and pull<br />
up on the cord to open, place pole<br />
handles in the loop and tighten with<br />
the cord lock to secure. To remove<br />
poles, reverse this process.<br />
SPRING STEEL FRAMING<br />
The three largest Kestrel packs (48L,<br />
38L and 32L) feature a full, internal<br />
4MM powder coated spring steel peripheral<br />
rod frame for supreme carry<br />
and performance.<br />
REVERSE STRAIGHTJACKET<br />
COMPRESSION SYSTEM<br />
This reverse strap system A serves<br />
a dual purpose allowing you to compress<br />
loads for a better, more balanced<br />
carry and providing retention straps for<br />
versatile side carry options. Traditional<br />
StraightJacket compression can be<br />
engaged across the front of the pack<br />
using opposing female buckles to compress<br />
partial loads and secure unusual<br />
items such as snowshoes etc.<br />

All Kestrel hipbelts have a sewn-on<br />
elastic strap near the buckle which is a<br />
strap keeper system for excess hipbelt<br />
webbing. Fold and tuck extra webbing<br />
through the loop.<br />
FRONT DAISIES WITH<br />
BUNGEE TOOL TIE-OFFS<br />
These pass-through style bungee cords<br />
can be slid into any of four positions<br />
and secured using a hook and loop<br />
system. The clove-hitch style bungee<br />
allows you to loop handles or poles<br />
quickly, a cord lock tightens or loosens<br />
the loop.<br />
ZIPPERED HIPBELT POCKETS<br />
All Kestrel packs feature hipbelt pockets<br />
with articulated, zippered openings for<br />
easy one-hand usage and convenient<br />
storage of needed items.<br />
